Value of acid dated 1913-s type 2 nickel

So I am in the process of putting together a set of acid dated buffs and have at least one 13-s type 2.

I know it is not a huge deal but cool nonetheless. I thought I saw at least more so may be I have a few? image

I think you will have a lot of trouble finding the later dates. I'd like to find a 16/16 for my set.

I inherited 800 Buffalo nickels several years ago that my mom pulled from circulation in the early 1950s. I acid dated all the mintmarked ones. I sold quite a few of the better dates on eBay for 10% to 30% of the Good value. PM if you need some from the teens, lol. I never had time to sell them all.

$35 - $50+ dependent upon how well the restoration looks. In the past I averaged around $40+ when I was selling 13-S T2's.

I have almost all restored dates and MM's from the teens and 20's but very few from the 30's. I had 5 18/7-D's (sold 3 still have 2) but never had the 16/16.

    Joe.

    Edit: Login problem.

The 1916/16 can be identified without the date by the doubling of the feathers and other die characteristics since it's a DDO. Don't use acid on this coin since it can be slabbed without the date based on the die characteristics which remain long after the date is worn off.

Even dateless buffalo nickels are worth a quarter last time I checked. They are used in crafts for jewelry, buttons, etc.

I can get more for a dateless buffalo than I can for an acid dates.
