Thanksimage Another question, I saw some GQ racks at Target, is it possible for someone to finger the racks to find the hits? I don't want to waste my money if someone's already searched them.

You can't search the racks, they are just 3 packs wrapped in cello hangers.

I just bought one rack pack and pulled a Nolasco autograph! Nice odds on that one. My early theory is that hobby boxes were shorted because they messed up and put
    good hits into retail.

Bought two value packs at Target, one had two green packs and two regular packs instead of three regular packs, anyone else have that happen?

Never heard of that happening, collation error most likely

I was able to purchase two boxes relatively cheap compared to what I've seen on ebay.....should I break them and hope for nice hits or sell the two boxes????? I don't think I will be doing the set......any advice?? thanks al.

I would rip them, its a fun rip and there are many cards that are worth money rather than just one player driving the cost up.

Man the stamp cards just keep going up in price. Topps did a nice job on those. I never collected stamps. Does anyone know if any of stamps themselves have added nice value to these cards as well? I love the foreign ones. I really like the ones that have been postmarked. Those seem to be rarer.

Speaking of printing plates.. woooooooooooo Just won a 1/1 mini black Lou Gehrig.. for what I think is cheap for the player at $115...

Also building an entire set of all the minis.. maybe even the sephias... the leathers will take a LONG time if I decide to as well.

I have to say I absolutely love the black minis

Nice pull Kurt - I like the stamp cards too

First thing that came to mind was why there was a German stamp on his card - maybe military brat? So I Googled:

Jackson's father, Edwin Jackson, Sr., a military cook, was stationed in Germany at the time of his birth. Jackson is one of 27 major league players who were born in Germany

Its funny, the coin cards in heritage wern't that hot were they? It would seem like the coins would be worth more than may of these stamps. Wouldn't the low numbering
explain why these cards are going so high? I tell you nothing is hotter than low numbered parallels of players....wether it be bazooka backs, black refractors or stamp
cards! Love the added bonus, these don't count as a hit do they?

    zep33zep33 Posts: 6,897 ✭✭✭
Nope, don't think they count as a hit. I was lucky with mine and got 2 back to back in the same pack

In retail, do you recommend blaster boxes or the value packs?

i must say, this rip was VERY enjoyable! i opened 3 blasters, and 5 of the Target Racks

Blasters are a no brainer imo. $2.50 a pack is awesome!

Here are the hits of note:

Top Seven are "GQ" Backs, the ones after the Black are "Regular" Minis

My Target just put out some value packs and a box of retail. Picked up 4 value packs (3 packs, +3green frames) for $9 (-my 5% for changing on the Target card).

Not a bad haul for a Yankees fan. Also got Gypsy Queen gem relic. Why?

Guys, if anyone has a Frank Thomas base, red back mini, and black mini available with decent centering, please let me know.

My only real desire is to find a black mini with no chipping and solid corners.

I've scored the regular mini, sepia mini, leather mini, and mini variation, just need to finish it off.

The plates have been selling for around $90 a piece, so I didn't add them.

Busted a blaster box of 2011 Gypsy Queen and didn't really care for the design. I'm not going to build a set, but I am working on a 2011 Heritage set. Not too much to be excited about, but if someone wants to take them off my hands or trade for some minor Heritage inserts I'd certainly be willing.

    Base: 15, 33, 44,48 (Maris), 53 (Foxx), 65 (Ruth), 75, 77, 108, 116, 125, 126, 134, 139, 150, 155, 161, 186,193, 195, 205, 209, 226, 231, 246, 252, 262
