Take a look

Hope this dealer is ok, but does anyone know who it might be? Even with major injuries, he refused to leave the scene at first!

A million dollars worth of worn Mercs??

Maybe that's what overloaded the back tire.

    Hope he's OK though.

God. That's up there with my worst nightmares. Not only did you have all your coins in the car, but loved ones too. It's cool that many came to his assistance to look for his coins and that the state troopers are continuing to monitor the area while the coins are being recovered.

I picture a Cheech and Chong - style cloud of smoke as the vehicle came to a rest and the windows rolled down.

A lot of people don't know this about red suitcases, but you can put your weed in there. And your rare coins too.

I wonder if he was rolling a dubie just before he rolled the car.

If I say something in the woods, and my wife isn't around. Am I still wrong?

Lost a crap ton of mary jane. (allegedly) CHECK
    Cops found it. CHECK
Right as a family member tries to claim it seemingly confirming that the suitcase belonged to the Victim. CHECK

As I read the media reports linked above, they found a quarter pound (i.e., four ounces) of pot inside a suitcase full of other stuff. Sounds like somebody's weekend recreational stash. No big deal.

I agree, it's not the "full suitcase" that is mentioned in the first sentence of the story.

I'll bet most of you haven't ever heard the tale of how John Pittman left a Rochester Numismatic Association meeting years ago with a box of coins sitting on the roof of his car. imageOF COURSE THEY WERE RECOVERED! image

37 bags or around 3000 pounds does sound unlikely it be in an SUV. But if it was a mix of silver, gold, and/or numismaticly valuable coins I can see the red book value being 1 mill

In Florida of all places , from what little i know on the subject Florida has a near zero tolerance stand on the stuff , it's not without some irony. A 1/4lb might well be considered a big deal, more so if it can be tied to the Coin dealer.

Unless intent of distribution was involved I can't see the coins being seized and a personal stash of weed here in TX is a misdemeanor and usually not a seizure.

One swift look at the NORML web site confirms Fla is not somewhere you want to be smoking pot. Anything over 20 grams is a felony , done and dusted.Up to 5 years in the jail and or a hefty fine,i don't know about seizure's but very possible i suppose.

He had to have been going at a fair clip to roll that SUV up to 5 times , even once is hard to do elsewise i'd like to think. If they find a roach in the ashtray it's sayanora buddy.

And yes, Fla is in the dark dark medieval incredibly backwards and unfree ages with regards to pot but many of the doctors will be happy to prescribe or sell you some opiates. Shame on them.

Interesting thoughts on some of the news sites comments sections regarding this , apparantly the tv crew found the drugs which raises a question of why were they going through an obvious accident victims belongings and one known to have a million dollars scattered around at the time. Some points about it wouldnt be admissable in any court as evidence. All good and well in theory , i don't know though.

Isn't Florida one of those states where you really don't want to get caught with any weed?

A quarter pound of hydro......even Cheech and Chong couldn't smoke that much in a weekend.

I'll bet back in the 'day', Tommy Chong could have toked that up himself......(don't need to give a history lesson there, but when was the last time you heard of Thai stick, or in the words of Carl Spackler... Northern California Sensimilla?....it's all about the 'ponics' now)

And NOOOOOO, you don't want to get caught with so much as a roach in FLA (not the ones that scatter when a light goes on)...trust me on that one (that's why spring-breakers just drink themselves to near-death).

So, getting back on topic, the cops have to determine who's it is....the dealer, his passenger, or the two guys who happened along afterwards. Looks like only half the cargo is getting returned, and if it IS the dealer who is determined to be the owner of the 'non-coin package'....those coins scattered about better be worth a million fashizzles.....he won't be released on personal recognizance, not with a quarter elbow in FLA. Does anyone actually know the 'dealer' this accident happened to? Could the package just 'be in the wrong place at the wrong time'?

Gives a whole new meaning to the word 'dealer'....wait, no it doesn't.
    I'll come up with something.

I would caution anyone with putting x and y together to equal dealer, not that it has been done and I am not being anal, just be careful as stranger things happen everyday in LE.

Realistically no charges will be filled, based on plausible deniability. It's possible some hikers forgot their briefcase of ganga in the woods.image

Hencce my statement/question of 'being in the wrong place at the wrong time'? I mean, it seems highly unlikely, BUT, stranger things have happened. Not even sure if the 2 that came back actually DO know the injured parties.....and lets remember, two people got hurt, the ganga is secondary.
    I'll come up with something.

It looked like a medium suitcase, not a briefcase. Myself when I travel I pack my suitcase with my prescription meds, personal items and what not not a qp of weed and shredded magazines, but that is just me.

Hello. Didn't anyone see in the article that "family members" of the dealer came to retrieve the bag while cops returned to the scene after the news station called them? Kind of indicates it belonged to the dealer.
