Currently raw, kind of an oddball design with a combination raised and sunken relief. Comments welcome:

Chances are those lines are die polish marks, rather than cleaning. The Maine half is one of the worst commems for finding heavy HEAVY die polish lines, especially on the reverse.

It's sometimes hard to tell luster and cleaning from a photo, but it looks like a decent Maine to me.

Hard to judge the lustre from the pics.

If that's die polish on the reverse that I see, rather than signs of cleaning, it might holder. I see lots of these struck from heavily polished dies, it seems.

    I like it.

Yes, the lines are die polish lines.

Thanks... when I saved the photo to My Pictures and enlarged the image, it looked like the lines were on the letters too.

One of my favorite designs as I've always liked the deep pie dish strike.

Looks like a nice CH BU.

Harry H. Cochrane's design is certainly an amateurish product, but the Maine folks liked it. As for the relief combinations, those were done by the sculptor and the mint to present detail without getting the relief too high to coin easily.

Nice score with the 64. Mine has tons of die polish also.
