If I just saw the image and knew no background I would lean heavily towards NT...knowing who sold it....tells me there is a 99% chance it's AT. That's a coin I would love to see in hand to see how the color and luster lay on the surface.....
I don't ever see 1916 dimes looking like this. They are either dipped out or have that darkish brown/black mottled look to them. (could be AT as well.....Accelerated Toning).
I would call this market acceptable. Because of the toning on the reverse along with carbon spots on the obverse and the way it all blends together I think the toning was unintentional.

I've seen lincolns that I suspected received a very minor cleaning then pick up the thinny type of peripheral toning from albums - and the giveaway are the hairy carbon spots always in the corner of a letter or in the crevace of the relief.
