If a precious metal made significant moves, I'm sure they'd reprice anything with that precious metal in it.

The gold commemoratives weigh 8.359 grams or 0.2687 troy ounces, and are 90% gold (10% "alloy")
proof ($454.95) unc. ($444.95)
or $362.81 in gold melt @ $1500 gold
The silver commemoratives weigh 26.730 grams or 0.8594 troy ounces and are 90% silver (10% copper)
proof ($59.95) unc. ($54.95)
about $34.80 in silver melt @ $45 silver
There's still wiggle room at these prices, so I don't expect a repricing, especially on the gold, any time soon.
Edited to Note at 1:42 PDT, Gold reached $1,527.50...
Methinks if Bernanke keeps talking, Mint's re-pricing could take place twice within one week!

<< <i>I pulled the trigger yesterday on the 1 ouncer... I'd been on the fence about this all week, but if I convince myself it's money in the bank, it's less of an issue.

<< <i>It would be so much more convenient if they'd simply remove the veil of secrecey, and let us print out own money... we're doing already, anyway... it's just that it would be more convenient... >>
that'd be better than printing it and giving it to banks that don't loan it, but invest it for themselves.
perhaps Ben's helicopter idea isn't so foolish sounding after all.
<< <i>Interesting. Not buying gold this year. Does this effect the medal of honor gold commemoratives also? If I was going to buy it would be that one. >>
I got my MOH today (unc). Nice looking coin.
