Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
That Antietam is so incredibly beautiful. Not over-the-top crazy color, just the perfect amount of rim toning to create a very special toned commem. I absolutely love it!
Very, very nice Antietam. And from RCNH to boot. It don't get any better than this. My Antietam came from RCNH also. Bought it in an NGC holder and had it crossed. It came back at the same 65 grade NGC had it as. I have always thought it had a shot at 66 but who knows.

I didn't mention, I had mine crossed maybe 12 to 15 years ago. I don't remember how lax or tight the grading was then.

Eagle eye, nice touch posting the picture! I was at an auction a week ago and one of these came up, they had a large image on a screen at the front of the room. Other than a few for the Dansco 7070, I've not done much with commens. But I said right out loud to whoever was near, me what a nice design this issue has. Yours is particularly nice! Extememly so!
