  • Spectacular set, though I have no idea on the worth.

  • I think he is asking if it would be worth that had it been graded by PCGS or maybe with the thought of having it re-graded by PCGS.
  • Looking at the inserts it appears the coins were graded together in one submission. That is quite the coo. I imagine it was probably housed in the larger single ngc slab and then broken up.

Is it worth $500.......not to me.

Would it be worth more in PCGS........yes for sure.

That set is worth about $150-200 max. I wouldn't pay more than $125 personally.

IF it crossed to PCGS as PR69, it'd be worth $100-125... or, the cost of having the set slabbed. So, if you could buy the set for $0 and then submit it to PCGS and they agree with NGCs grades, you'd break even.

Is that one where the pop charts have all the numbers running together without spaces because they`ve graded 50,000 in 69?

The only reason someone may pay that much is it probably took about 10 sets to find matching coins with about 15 submitted, 3 of each, to get even grades across the board. Someone else took the time and rsources to pull this off at one time and now it commands a little premium, but gee, $500 maybe they will find a buyer, the bait is out, maybe they will get a nibble.

What ever happened to true auctions on e-Bay?

Now, had they been cameo, you bet!

The serial numbers are consecutive so your scenario isn't possible.

I don't see any cameo coins in that set. As such I'd say that it is massively over priced.

I know that the services don't had out a lot PR-69 graded coins from this era, but without cameos the coins would not be worth it to me.

    Oh yes it is ...

Who says all of these coins came from one mint sealed set? The submitter could have been good at grading, put together five coins from multiple sets and gotten lucky.
