Celestron 10x-150Xdigital microscope. Tiny little thing a little taller than a roll of quarters but its not all that bad.

Looks perfectly fine to me. Wish I could do as well. Congratulations on the pick up and on saving some money.
    The camera takes great pics.

Looks good for showing minute coin details; especially for the price.

Can you get an image of the entire coin or only closeups?

  • It's the one i bought last year , cystater has the link there. It can't do an entire coin unless maybe an old US 3c silver but it is pretty good on getting the details of any one area of a coin as the OP has shown.

This might be my solution for the varieties! I'll take photos of the entire coin with my high quality equipment then use something like this for the close up of the variety. Very Very Interesting!

Since the microscope camera will image at 10x, 40x and 150x...which setting did you have it on for the photo you posted? Thanks.

  • If it's the celestron theres really no way to know what magnification X exactly a user is on , it's a dial that spins and comes into focus depending on distance.A fickle wee thing but decent results.I'll probably have mine up on the BST shortly as i used it for studying Maundy coins and accomplished what i set out to do with it.
