NEWPS for the Uncirculated Box of "20" AND the Circ Box of "20"

Picked up a great coin from TomB (actually 2 from him), but only one for this box of 20. I'll post the other NEWPS later on in this thread. Have not finished the other collages.
I have known for quite a while that TomB and I have similar taste in coins and I was very pleased to hear that he started to dip into the dealing side of the house. When I saw this half dollar offered, I figured it was worth a look. Now that I have it in hand, I sure am happy that I took the time. I have a group of "candidate types" that can fill out the box of 20. The main rules are that they have to come from a series that I really like, and of course have to be up to my standards in regards to originality, eye appeal and luster. A barber half was always on the list of coins that could fill a slot in the set, although I wanted a sleeper date, preferably with a mintmark of some kind. This 1892 was just too nice to pass up.
The skin is very thick, with creamy luster under medium toning, especially at the peripheries. Very nice for the grade, this coin presents very well and fits into the rest of the set nicely. It seems so very seldom that I add a coin these days, I am very happy to see it added. The collection has a long way to go and will go through some changes I am sure. Right now there are too many merc dimes (probably), and of course, I am sure that someone will point out that there aren't twenty coins!
Just can't find enough nice coins!
All I can say is that the box of 20 concept continues to be liberating as I can select really any coin that strikes my fancy but still feel very focused. The fact that I am doing three different ones (U.S. UNC, U.S. CIRC and Foreign) really expands the search while at the same time takes into account "lean monetary times". When I can't afford a major purchase, I can still add a really nice circ coin and get just as much pleasure in filling a slot with a cool coin with strict standards.
This coin, and a couple of NEWPS that I will post in the coming weeks will most likely be it for a couple of years. Moving to Washington State for a few months in August, catching a ride around the world on the USS Abraham Lincoln for a moderately delayed sea tour, and then landing in Norfolk VA for the remainder of the tour. Hope to make it back to Monterey eventually, but either way, I will not have much time for coins. Priority will be spending time with the family and the career during this milestone tour. Coins will likely get dropped off the priority list until I get back on shore duty. Just not enough time.
Anyway, this is certainly not goodbye, but the coinlieutenant will be scarce for a couple of years. Will still be checking PMs occasionally and email of course, so drop me a line if something crazy happens. You know...like coinguy coming back for the seventh time, or ACG gaining market share of coin grading...stuff like that. Enjoy the pics and feel free to critique the coin or the presentation. I'm experimenting with the collage look and feel.

Yes and DLRC also handle it... Yet neither did it justice image wise as TomB has.
