I think this is why i hold on to my S mint cents.

I have a huge pile of S mint cents from 1968-74. So getting home tonight I thought lets poke through and see what i got. I think i found this coin once before ( or a similar one) but ill post it here its what i think is a 68S DDO. somehow it got loose and back into my S mint box so finding it now is a good thing. But can use 2nd set of eyes.

    I can see some doubling, but am nowhere near knowledgeable enough to say it's not machine doubling. Neat find. Hopefully one of the experts will chime in.

    Yes, I agree with PH, machine doubling. I don't see split serifs.

    I've finally figured out a foolproof method of ascertaining doubled die coins. If I have it, it's not a doubled die. Lol HM

    Is there anything going on with LIBERTY or the date? It kinda looks like there could be some Class 2 with some kind of rotation. I'm not sure of any MD doubling for the year.

    I think it's a DDO. I see notching in the upper left corner of the 'T', and the bottom right of the R.

    I also vote Class II doubled die obverse, I can see separation lines on the O in GOD and notching on the R in TRUST. If I remember this variety correctly it should also show up well on the date, especially since your coin appears to be an earlier die state.

    While the doubling is minor, that sure does look to be a die hubbed DDO
    and not a common machine doubled coin.
    Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

    I can't imagine why nobody thought of this yet, but coppercoins.com lists a few DDOs for the date. The OP's coin sure looks a lot like CONECA 1-O-II.

    It's a DDO. There are split serifs present in a few of the letters. Congrats.

    I would call it a DDO. This is not machine doubling as far as I can tell.

    At first, I wanted to call it machine doubling, but after seeing what appear to be true doubling on both the R and S, I vote DDO, albeit a minor one.
