1964-D Kennedy DDO #101

Found this in a hoard of silver ready for the smelter. First one I have found and quite surprised at how dramatic the doubling is.

Sometimes you have to overlook condition on varieties.
<< <i>Experts--is there any market for these in lightly circulated condition?

Although I'm no expert, I'd buy it for a small premium just to have it!
The one thing I like about the Kennedy's over the IKE's is that some of the doubling can be a real eye popper with no "experience required"!
The name is LEE!
it's probably due to the fact that it's a naked eye variety.
<< <i>I'm surprised that this is called "dramatic". >>
Comparitively speaking, it is quite dramatic since a lot of Doubled Die coins only show serif splits with little actual letter separation.
Also remember that these are big coins and expecting to find something along the lines of separation as a 55/55 Lincoln is just wishful thinking since the error would have been spotted immediately on the die and would have never made it into production. The only reason the Lincoln did was because its relatively small.
