1949-S Franklin Proof-Like Poll: Which images do you like the best?

All images are of the same coin. PLs can be difficult to photograph, for me at least.

if I am buying, I want them all, with picture 2 showing the most detail-
If showing off, picture 1 looks to be the best
If I had to grade the coin by each picture, I do nit think I would come up with 65 FBL PL for each-
3 and 4 would not get FBL based on the picture ( 3 looks slightly out of focus on the Reverse)

I agree with you on everything you mentioned. FWIW, I'm trying to decide which one to use on my website. This is one coin I really regret selling.

But I'll bet #3 & 4 are closest to what the coin looks like in hand.

Very interesting observation. This demonstrates very dramatically that judging whether or not a Franklin is FBL from just one photo/angle is very iffy!

+1 It seems to show the mirrors the best.
#2 will look "cleaned" to many collectors.
#3 and #4 both show the PL best, but give the coin a baggy appearance.
#5 is the best image, in my opinion, showing the FBL the best, giving
the overall appearance of a gem, and showing a hint of PL.
Like you said, imaging proof-like surfaces is not easy. Might be best to
use the image that looks best overall, and let the PL part go.
I'd like to see that coin in person, I'll bet it's dynomite... (despite the reverse SPOT)

Best photo: #1
Best photo of the coins so it looks PL: #4
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!

It's one of the nicest '49-S PLs I've seen in hand, some of these have a dull, flat look to them. I originally bought this coin in an old NGC MS64 holder before they denoted Franklins as PL or FBL. That reverse spot isn't as distracting as it looks in the pics but I could see how it would bother some collectors.
Thanks for voting everyone!
