    A couple of months ago, I bought an 1835 $5 for $20 over melt.

    Gold is good -- high or low.

    I'm guessing these are impaired examples right?

    The high price in gold has allowed me to find some really cool coins for around melt, it has been cleaned but at the price I really did not care.
    I figure if gold drops I should at least have some numismatic value

    here is a recent one I picked up for just a little over melt.
