Understandable but somewhat unexpected response from a large bullion dealer…

I recently purchased a full bag of 90% halves from a major bullion dealer. In the process of sorting them, I discovered one 1965 (40%) half. Not a huge deal, but I decided to mention it today while placing another order with the dealer. I figured it would be worth an envelope & stamp for me to “swap” for a 90% half.
Dealer said “throw it back in the bag, we don’t check for dates, we don’t have time”. I replied “Well, I do intend on selling the bag at some point” (as in, I wouldn’t knowingly sell it as-is). Dealer said “don’t worry, dealers don’t check for this, ha ha”.
Not the finest customer-service reply, but understandable.

I wonder what that dealer would say if you short changed him $10.00 on that order and then told him "don't worry about it, most dealers don't even look at the amount of the check"
just think if he's done that with every bag he's ever sold....??? Very easy to take a couple of 90% Kennedy's out and throw a couple of 40%'s in and pass it on. I think he should make it good. It's not like they're 8X or 10X face anymore. 25X-27X is serious money to some folks in quantity.
