Proof/Mint Set questions

Okay, so I've got a guy who has proof and mint sets dating from 1970-2009 and is interested in selling.
What, if any, varieties should he be on the lookout for for specific years?
Also, he wants to get the best price for his sets of course, so what would be a good outlet to sell? Ebay, B&M?
Thanks for your help.

eBay would probably yield a higher sales price... however, your net may be the same. Your best bet may be the BST.

<< <i>If you attempt to sell the low value sets individually on ebay your friend will get hammered with fees and postage as a relative percentage of sales. In my opinion, for the great majority of these sets you will be lucky to get 80% of Greysheet bid. >>
That's what I'm thinking too. I don't know if any are silver sets. He didn't specifically mention it, so I am assuming they are all clad. Personally, I was thinking he may come out better if he does them as a date-run lot for the lower valued sets, then individual for the rest.
Are there any varieties to look for, asides from the various no-S, the 1970 large/small date, or the Type1/2 from 1979 etc?
<< <i>TomB has stated it well... a very sad truth - which is one of the reasons I have stopped buying from the mint. Cheers, RickO >>
Me too. Just got to where it was cheaper to wait a few years after release to get the ones I want, especially for the clad sets.
