I would have made the trek if it was not the weekend after Baltimore and the weekend before Santa Clara. I wont be caught up enough to go.

This is a great show, went every year when I lived in Seattle. Cheers, RickO
  • Seattle doesn't offer much in shows anymore. This one is the best one available. I'll be there on Friday and maybe Saturday.

Hope everyone has a good show..

I am very pleased to be setting up at this show again. I went for the first time last year and it was a great show! Not to mention my brother lives there, so I get FREE room and board, which is an added plus!

Bump as it is only 2 weekends away and I hope to find some nice, and sanely priced, half-cents for the collection (about given up on finding toned silver Roosies anywhere local around here...that are slabbed or slabbable for my son's set).

See some of you there image

I agree with the others --- for Seattle, this is a very solid show.

I'll be there on Saturday. I'd be there on Friday, but I blew it and bought opening day M's tickets. image

P.S. The PennyLady's table blew my mind last year.

I've been to the last three opening days at Safeco and decided to stay away this year 'cause I was evidently jinxing them.

I'll be at the PNNA show friday and wll probably stop back on saturday.

I'll be there. I'm speaking in the Numismatic Theatre on Saturday on numismatic items relevant to the early Pacific Northwest -- medals, buttons, coins, etc.

Of course, I'll also be set up with a sumptuous array of early American whatnots! Come by and visit -- it's my first foray into the Seattle market.

Just curious, is there some big event going on in Seattle in the next few days or during the weekend? All flights seem to be completely booked or absurdly expensive.

I'm sitting here at 6am at the airport listening to Hootie on my iPod waiting to board my flight and tried to upgrade but was toild my flight is completely oversold. So I'm a little curious also as to whether something else is going on in Seattle this weekend.

In any event, I'm looking forward to the show and seeing some of the Northwestern forumites!

What airline? Southwest had to ground a lot of their planes this past week and not sure if they have caught back up on things yet.....
Alaska had removed a number of flights over the last 2 years so they were running near capacity on a number of trips as well.
Delta has been the same I have heard, as Alaska.

It was Alaska Airlines, and every seat was taken on my flight here to Seattle. It's a bit chilly and rainy here, similar to the weather we had in Baltimore last week.

I just got back from Frys here in the Seattle area where my brother (who lives here) helped me pick out what I call my new "show" notebook - it's a 10" laptop that I will take to shows instead of my regular laptop which will stay at home safe and sound. Yes, I also back it up but I feel safer having a separate travel notebook that doesn't contain everything my home laptop does but has the internet, my inventory, contact and calendar info, and of course all my coin photos! I thought about getting an iPad-type device but just couldn't get used to the virtual keyboard that I would need to input information on my Excel inventory, so I went with the tiny notebook. My brother is setting it up right now for me - yippee!

Sounds like a netbook. Nothing wrong with that.
As for the weather...today is better than yesterday image
(rain, hail, lightning, thunder, snow, more rain, cold, more rain, etc)

I don't think I will make it tomorrow but I will see you Saturday image

Much rarer -- I've never spoken in the Pacific NW before! I'm looking forward to it ... now if USScare will cooperate and let me on this flight from Phoenix, I'll be golden. So far they're 1 out of 3: first one cancelled, second one late but successful, third one left before I arrived.

With luck, see you in Seattle tomorrow ...

I ignorantly overlooked buying air tickets for the trip to this show until last week but by that time the fares were outrageously high and/or flights were completely sold out. I did a search again this morning and basically everything outbound to Seattle was sold out or full fare first class seats were the only seats available (return tickets are available, they aren't cheap but still within reason). I tried booking using miles and seats were unavailable for any amount of miles. I can't fathom paying $599 for a one-way flight from SFO to Seattle especially when I cannot guarantee that the show will be profitable to the extent of making those expenses justifiable. In comparison I just purchased my itinerary for the Central States show and the total SFO-ORD round trip cost was $268.

Suprisingly all flights on Saturday are booked even more solid than those on Friday. Besides, I have an event to attend at San Francisco Intl. Airport on Saturday so I can't make it regardless.

Unless I can make something work in the next half hour I will not be attending this time.

I arrived pretty early to the show since my brother had to be at an early meeting (he works at Expedia), so I have some extra time before they let the dealers in. It's about 35 degrees right now (brrrrrrrrr!) and no clouds so I hear it will be sunny - but I'm not so sure sunny=warn! Wei, we'll miss you since you're a regular fixture at all the shows, at least the ones I attend, and you're always entertaining to chat with!

John, I would have liked to listen to your talk on Saturday, but I'm manning (or womanning?) my table by myself at this show so I won't be able to get away.

Holeinone, Bochiman, Quarternut, Highrelief, Constantine, Swampboy, Dave, Seattleslammer, evsite, nysoto, I look forward to seeing you, as well as all the other forumites who live up here in beautiful, breathtaking Seattle! Airlplanenut, I'll miss you! Todd, you're missing out!!!!

My niece is in town for some academic literary convention. She's from Toronto - perhaps it's a bigger convention than I thought, tying up the airlines??

Besides seeing Charmy, it was the worst show I have ever been too. There may have been less than 5 coins that interested me at all.

I did get a au 55 Indian cent from The Penny Lady!
    image

It's my second PCGS rattler with the foam white insert. Here is my other one.
    image

I will put up a better picture later, this is Charmy's terrible picture. (She admitted it so don't yell at me.)

I almost bought an MS64 Gold dollar for $1400, it was awesome, great toning for gold. I'll have to see if the Iphone pic I took came out.
    image
I saw a few nice half dimes from Dr. Eugene Bruder, but I could not pull the trigger. Maybe tomorrow.

It was very iffy for me. I sure do miss Baltimore, now that is a coin show.
