Roll of 1996 W Dimes

I just finished putting together this roll of 1996 W dimes. Most of the people I knew thought I was crazy - but I think a lot of us are a bit crazy at times.

No, I am not sure what I am going to do with 50 W Dimes - any suggestions??

Now if you ever find 50 1996-W dimes in circulation, THAT would be really, really unusual, not to mention extremely difficult.

I don't just keep up with the 1996-W dimes but I would think they have to rise in price. There are only so many of them and a modern day classic. I won't say rarity, I don't know how many were made. I would still tyhink they would be a good investment. Of course years ago I purchased and put away 20 each of 2 of the years the Kennedy half was only in the mint sets. I bought the mint sets. But no increase in price to speak of.

<< <i>Pretty cool. I like what you put them in as well, store bought? >>
That is the original Mint packaging.
I have 3 or 4 1996 Mint Sets and bought a PCGS MS67FB too.
I was considering adding a few more of the Dimes by themselves also.
15 years later, and I can attest that the person who wrote they only have one way to go is correct: sideways.
1996 uncirculated set with "w" dime: closing soon, $16.95, no bids

You could pick them up pretty cheap between 1998 and about 2001.
I'd guess we're working through some hoards that were accumulated during
that era. When these are gone prices should head higher again. There are
about 1.2 million of these surviving and nearly half aren't available. $15 seems
pretty cheap.

The entire Mint Set usually sells for the same price as the dime alone. So you might as well try to find a decent price on the entire set, that way you get an extra $1.82 face value in coins which you can also hoard or spend
The Greysheet has the entire 1996 mint set at a price $12 bid/$13 ask. While most dealers seem thrilled to sell modern mint/proof sets at bid or even less, that isn't the case for the 1996 mint set and I usually see it for sale in the $15-$20 range. Of course, once in awhile I find a dealer selling some of them at the greysheet prices, or less and I grab them up. At one show a couple years ago I bought 10 complete sets for $100, that was cool

I dont really expect them to go up in value, but if they do then that is awesome. And if nothing else it gave me something to do.
I might pick up more if I can get the cheap, but for now I think I am good at 50 examples.
On a side note I would like to find one that has been holed - I think that would make a great addition to my holed Dansco 7070 set!
