Official 2011 Topps Diamond Giveaway Thread - site is live

Guess it went live sometime over night - Topps Diamond Giveaway Site

entered 30 codes so far.

Highlights:

1958 Hal Griggs
1961 Danny Kravitz
1963 Jimmy Piersall

4 1974s
2 1975s

With each code you enter you get a chance to dig up instant prizes. Most are rings but on my 14th dig, I won a 60th Anniversary Commerative Set

After 5 digs you get a free code, after 10 you get a $10 e-gift card for toppsshop.com and after 15 I got some cell phone skin thing

Looks pretty cool so far - same trading like last year. Not sure what we're supposed to do with all these virtual rings yet. Some are team rings, others are player rings (retired) Got Aaron, Koufax, Ruth, Campanella, Musial, etc...

Good luck, Have fun and post your wins

Unlocked the rest of my 82 codes

    1954 Granny Hamner
    1961 Ray Semproch
    1961 Walt Moryn
    1965 Duke Carmel
    1965 Bill Rigney
    1967 Tom Haller
    1967 John O'Donaghue
    1969 Jim Weaver

    a few more 73-75 and a bunch of 80s and 90 junk

According to the chart, it looks like you get a complete anniversary set when you have 45 unique rings (I'm around 40) and trading isn't up yet.

I'm sure it's all random but my instant win set came from digging on the first base block in case anyone wants to try the same spot.

I just redeemed my first code (a 1988 common) and then went to the field to dig. I dug a hole but nothing happened after that. It did not tell me I won something, it did not tell me I lost....it kind of froze up on me. Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong?
  • Options
Disregard....I tried it again and this time I receivd my prize...a virtual diamond ring of the Mets.

I had a few that took a while to dig. Gave up, logged back in and tried again.
It should still say you have 1 dig until you actually get something.

Looks like they don't enable any trading until April 1st - that sux. Last year it was immediate.

Didn't really have any problems digging all 82 of my holes. Only when I had about 10-15 left were there delays. Maybe the site was overloaded with everyone waking up and trying to enter codes and dig at the same time.
I was doing it a 5:30 in the morning.

    Of course you did. image

    I had 3 codes

1st dig got me a vintage pack, from the 70's or 80's

All I get is a hole in the ground. Feel like Charlie brown. I dig, I let it sit, it does not do anything else. Slow is slow, but I don't think this is working.

bought 2 jumbo packs today (nothing good) but with the 2 codes I got my 45th unique ring and unlocked another 60th anniversary commemorative factory set.

no big deal but pretty cool to be getting 2 free factory sets later in the year

Mike are you sure those are factory sets? And not some other special 60th Anniversary set? It would seem that 60 codes wouldn't be hard to obtain to reach that goal.

    Holy crap.

That seems insanely easy to reach to me. If I could trade "rings" I'd be over 45 easy. And with 15 or so left I'd purchase a small lot on Ebay to get me there. Thanks for the pic.

wondering now if it's a mini set or something like they had in 91 which would be fine with me anyway.

It does say exclusive but it does seem like more than a 50 card set or something like that

The Black Diamond ones are # to 60. The regular ones aren't

Still pretty rare pull since as of now, the only way to get them is to unlock them I believe

On my 8th try I hit a complete 60th Anniversary set as well.

I would love to hit some of the die cut or diamond cards but it seems those are going to be pretty tough hits.

Is the Hanson a Die Cut? Because those are already bringing some bucks on ebay.

I opened a case of 2011 Topps and bought a few lots on Ebay of the diamond cards. I did this last year with the million and redeemed all my star cards and anything from 1980 and before. A lot of them where in rough shape.

Hope this year they turn out better. I just wanted to share my results so far. I have redeemed 147 Cards and I have 149 rings(many doubles and triples, and I won a couple digs) and have 54 different rings. I know the hardest one to get will be the Mantle.

Those Die Cuts are bringing some good money, I might as well redeem them and get em up on the Bay.

Good Luck to all of you!!! I just bought another 50 of them. Addicting, but fun. Out of the 147 cards redeemed the highlights are:

8 Die Cut cards(Anderson, Longoria, Desmond, Howard, Teixeira, Morneau, Yaz, and MANTLE!!
    1 1958 Card(Carlton Willey)
    2 1960
    3 1961
    1 1963
    1 1964
    1 1966
    1 1967
    1 1968
    1 1969
    17 1973
    12 1974
    7 1975
    4 1976
    2 1977
    4 1978
4 1979 That I think equals 70 of the 147 cards. There are only a couple of minor stars out of all them. The good part is almost half are 1980 or before, the bad part is no Star Power!! Hope the next 50 bring some more diamond cards and gets me closer to the 60 rings.

Those Die Cuts are bringing some good money, I might as well redeem them and get em up on the Bay.

That's a sweet pull. I have seen what you have been pulling in 2011, and I must say please let us borrow the horseshoe! LOL. Great job on the Jeter!

I wonder what the Mantle die cut will bring if I put it up. My guess would be $115-$150. I haven't seen one listed on the Bay yet.
