I've always wanted one of these, and one was just offered on the BST for a very reasonable price. Dripping with history, and by far my favorite colonial coin! A big thanks to Jake of Hollyday coins for this one!

I love that coin too. Great designs and both sides, well preserved to appreciate the detail, and nice eye appeal. Not sure what more you could ask for.

i have always liked this particular issue........it has the same scrambled motto as the Brasher Doubloon, Unum E Pluribus (even if not gramatically correct, interesting read here)

looking at the picture, and it may just be an optical illusion as i see no corresponding mark on the reverse, there is a circle that touches the 'I' in WASHINGTON that i would swear was evidence of a plugged hole.......again, i dont mean to disparage the piece in any way and it obviously passed the PCGS test but this 'optical illusion' is interesting

That is an amazing coin... very nice. I am also curious about the circular mark, and I do seem to see a corresponding mark on the reverse next to the fourth feather of the wing on the left (as you look at it). Even if plugged, I would love to have that coin. Really a nice specimen. Cheers, RickO

I did see that on the BST and thought it seemed very reasonably priced for the issue / grade.

I'm still stinging over a deal in which I traded this and cash for a seated quarter that would not grade(3 different times) from who I thought was a very reputable dealer that shall remain nameless. This PCGS AU55 (55, that's a laugh) came from the Prestera auction in 2007.

I feel terrible - wish I could buy it back!

Great pick up AnkurJ. A question though, is the dimple in the bottom of the letters on the obverse/reverse a result of bifurcation or of design. Just curious. I figured bifurcation but was not sure.
