Did the graders ATS miss the mark? Guess the grade

Older white no prong holder. Forgive my pictures they were made with a 3.1mp P&S.

I grade the coin AU 50, and I find it VERY attractive and original looking compared to most of this issue.

Hey wait a minute, I already did (NGC AU 53):

[edited to add: after comparing my coin to the OP's coin, I would like to change my guess to AU 55 -- I like his coin more.]

She's looks like an EF/AU coin. Straddles the line with meat and the extent of luster will tip her one way or the other.

Yup. Grading from those pics involves some guesswork but it appears AU55 give or take a grade.

That coin has nice 55 details and I have seen similar coins in 58 holders.
I like this coin a lot

Thanks for all the participation/guesses regarding this coin. This coin is a dark chocolate color and was difficult for me to photograph, I was having a hard time not seeing my camera reflection off the slab when I really poured the light to it, and ended up increasing the exposure to compensate.(don't really know if this was the correct fix to my problem)

The strike is mushy on the lower half of the coins obverse (stars, lower date and bust) and comparing it to MikeInFL's coin has a bit less wear on it. Some of you called the grade like it is on the holder XF45, but in my opinion and apparently some of yours that might be a little tough on this one.

A little bit of luster peeking through is what often gets NGC to grade these AU rather than XF45. This one does have it.

Technically the coin is XF45 but would probably fetch AU50 money on its overall quality. No doubt we've all seen bust halves like that graded AU50-53. This one just didn't go in on one of those lucky days. It has enough detail imo. On a couple more submissions it could likely make AU50 on one of them.

I can see it as AU50. On a bad day at the office it's a 45. Resubmit it and you may get 50. Dip it for 53-55.

My guess is it's in a NGC 53 holder. From the images I would say 50 sounds fair. I like it a lot!

I agree with this assessment, but I wouldn't crack it out to get a 50, and definitely wouldn't dip it to get 55, I like it nice and original

superb in every way in my view. I think its in an xf45 holder as well. simply an outstanding coin.
