25 Years of Gold and Silver eagles...and a full life expectancy...

...for a swimming pool. By this time next week my swimming pool will have been filled with dirt and busted up concrete and be ready to be the foundation for the new putting green. It was there when I bought the house in late 86 and was brand new so I think it was built in 86. 86 was also the first year of the gold and silver American Eagle program. 25 years is quite a while. most of us were fully adult by then--the 60s seem further back, when silver went away, but there are those among us who weren't even born yet in 86. My pool plaster is flaking off and the surface is not nearly as good as it once was. But this gold coin is as good as it ever was. --jerry

<< <i>I bet the pool produced much more enjoyment over the 25 years than that Gold AGE ever did. >>
Actually, I live too close to the coast and it isn't warm enough here for a pool. I should have filled it in years ago as it was almost never used. When we swim, we go to the country club. But now that gold eagle, it is sweet. --Jerry
<< <i>Gold coins are just plain beautiful... in or out of plastic. Pools are pain in the pocket book and a lot of work. Cheers, RickO >>
Most people who have never had a pool don't realize how true this statement is.
My parents filled their pool in year before last, it was dug in '83 when I was 6. My dad uses it as a nice garden spot now and enjoys the lower electricity bill. There were some fun times and great memories made in the pool.
That coin looks great.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost to get you pools filled including everything?
I knew it would happen.
