<< <i>I don't know about the rest of you. But when there is a problem and you paid for the insurance you should file the claim. I haven't had a problem in my grand total of 2 claims. both were packages not delivered. the infamous "steal me tags" I quit putting steal me tags on packages. >>
Again, that is all good and fine and I have filed for packages NOT delivered. But, in this case, the package WAS delivered. Read the USPS rules posted above on claims. I CANNOT file the claim. The buyer MUST file the claim since he has the package. Plain and simple. It is not difficult to do. I can promise you the reason the buyer did not follow up is because he was not telling the truth. If he was telling the truth and was really concerned about anything, he would have followed up. He is a scumbag buyer. He is now on my blocked list. The buyer is only 7 months old on eBay with over 100 feedbacks now. Something tells me he is not new to this and may have been suspended because he has done this before and has since opened a new account to start all over again.
Report the buyer for attempted mail fraud...put that in the response to the negative at eBay "I have reported John Smith of xx A Street to USPS for attempted mail fraud". I'll bet with all the problems reported against the USPS, if enough people started reporting this stuff it might get interesting.
UPDATE HERE AS OF A FEW MINUTES AGO: Turns out the buyer filed an appeal and was refunded the money by eBay/Paypal, but suposedly, I am not responsible to reimburse those funds (we'll see). Now, my concern is that the buyer was refunded by eBay, will still file a claim, and has the coin. I don't know if I have a way to see if a claim has been filed or not with the USPS. Does anyone know the answer to that?
