This is all so verifiably full of BS it is clear now that the problem here is you are a borderline compulsive liar.
#1 It was in an XF 40 ICG holder, not segs. I linked you to the photos in the holder and to the threads about the possible damage before you paid. I was very upfront about the entire thing and even showed extreme closeups to you of that area,.
#2 Your logic that you didnt want to trust me with your money in a return situation when the other offer came thru is LUDICROUS and a blatant grasp at straws. I ALREADY had your money. I STILL had the coins. Sound like if I was trying to scam you that maybe I already held all the scamming pieces at that point? What additional trust was required at that point from you? You got your coins though didnt you...
#3 I NEVER threatened what Cam did. IT HAD NOT EVEN HAPPENED YET. Check the dates. This was 2 weeks before! If I am lying post my words saying it. YOU are the liar.
#4 That didnt occur behind your back. We got to PMing and i forgot to put SOLD in my post. In that 45 minutes or so someone posted this: "I think i'll take the Camera and the Draped please." They also PM'd me at that time and since you kept reminding me you were overpaying I figured this was your chance to get out of it if you didnt really want it. I informed him that it was sold but that I would ask if he(you) wanted to back out, it was your option. I never tried selling it behind your back. Here is the cut and paste from all 3 sides:
Me to the offer #2 guy: "Hey, the draped got sold. The camera is yours if you want it. I can take pictures of it with my cell phone if you need me to."
Offer #2 responded something here and i say:
"Ok let me talk to the other guy. Take your time confirming it and I will see if he will let me make the extra couple bucks that way."
Me to you: "OK jeff this is an awkward request because you have already bailed me out but a possible offer has come in for the draped half at 2100$ It isnt confirmed yet and I will consider our done deal binding if you tell me you dont want to do it but the extra 700$ would go a LONG way to helping me right now. I know it would be crazy for you to accept this under normal business conditions but Id share a portion of that profit with you if that was what I needed to do. Again its not confirmed, he is thinking about it along with my camera. "
You to me: "Common now, I collect bust halves too, I a maid a fair offer based on my opinion and previous grade and you accepted. I already passed on another 1805 I was considering based on my transaction with you. Oh I sent you $100 for the 1921 dos pesos. I would like you to honor our agreement as again I have already passed on a great deal on a 1805 that he was holding based on my thoughts, it is gone now and sold to the next person in line. I would like the 3 coins I purchased sent tomorrow. I am trying to help you and even get you a job at my company, please don't make me feel uncomfortable about it.
Jeff "
And me back immediately to you: "Its no problem I will remain bound to our deal. Just figured you might like the instant profit yourself for doing nothing, had to give it a shot. $700 is A LOT of money for me right now. But in any case thats fine. Ill let the guy know its a no go. "
Screen shot attached at the end to verify all of this.
#5 "People here know me"...They sure do apparently. I got a PM asking if it was you BEFORE you even posted, saying "I'd bet money it's TexasNationals isnt it?" and 2 more afterward comfirimg you are a flake out. I was actually very surprised, sounds like youd be too if you saw what some people here think about you.
#6 you like to call me the scammer over and over. What kind of scammer admits his wrongdoing on the biggest coin forum in the world? I guess that makes me the dumbest scammer in the world too? I'm not the one bragging about paying 700$ for a 1700$ coin from someone. Your windfall is someone's short end of the stick dont you think? I took a lady in town here to a Cash for Gold convention not long ago. They offered her 50% of spot for her gold based on the gold content, not overall weight. I told her it was borderline scam offer and she agreed and we left. Everyone here agrees those guys offer scam money at 50% of spot. But even that deal is better than whoever got the other side of your awesome "cherry pick" now isnt it? 700 = 41% of 1700. Still wanna talk about morals?
#7 Im not sure where you got that I was going to offer you 40% for my coins back. Maybe that is what you are ^now accustomed to paying for coins? As I explained in the PM I only called it an offer because you would have the right to keep it. I was going to OFFER TO BUY THEM BACK. Are you aware yet that the word offer here has a multiple meaning based on context and in no way implied offer as in I was going to "offer 40%" as you have deduced somehow?
<< <i>mumu, I feel your pain - but have many questions
you said you were a commodities broker making over $10K a month - surely during that time you accumulated 'stuff' that you have no need for now?
why don't you sell it on eBay - no need to buy new product when you have your own - even the commodities books sell well their - and series 3 exam training books....
you say eBay closed your selling acct, use your girlfriends account (or have her start one) - different emails, banks accounts, name... -you said yourself with a few negatives for sales cancellation, it will be a rough road selling with that eBay account
I know how miserable it gets in northern Wisconsin during the winter - short daylight, cold weather, snow drifts I remember one day trying to get to work - minus 10 degrees - and my door handle breaks off in my hand, as the door remains frozen shut I remember driving to work and my car bottoms out in a snow drift on a paved road - I remember using a shovel to clear a path and dig out the compact snow stuck under my car bottoming me out
do not dwell on deals past - look forward to what you can do to help your current situation for the future do some cash flows on your eBay selling plan, see what type of volume you need to turn in order to pay your bills >>
You are correct. I was doing pretty well for myself for a while there. It lasted about 6 months. I was laid of from one job. Got screwed out of 10k of unpaid work from them. Then 3 months later my other company lost their biggest client and had to stop paying. I had faith in the owner and company and continued to work for 12 months with no pay in an attempt to keep the company alive. I was an instrumental part and had I walked away they would have folded instantly. In that time and the time since I have sold over 500 coins from my collection to stay afloat. My gf then got cancer and I moved to be near her when she decided she wanted to be near family back home in WI if these were going to be her last days. I came hoping that maybe a change of scenery and lower bills might lead me to a better job op as my area was producing nothing for so long, and obviously to support her.
I still have some things to sell and as pointed out I will be using a friends ebay account to move them. I never came here asking for pity or free money(though both were offered and I rejected). I came clean about my deal gone bad because I didnt want to lose this forum as a resource. I didnt know if my ebay buyers were members here who would eventually destroy my reputation if I didnt come clean about it. Clearly my reputation is mud now anyway and I will probably just move on from this forum but I have a clean conscience that even though i screwed up, I stood up and took what came with it without for one second trying to hide the truth.
I felt this person was careless with the job offer thing and really screwed up to mess around with someone and thought I'd air it out. Clearly not everyone was going to like this kind of thing. Luckily the logistics of reading forums makes it really easy to avoid what you dont like. Others had urged me in PM to reveal the person before he "stepped up" and agreed it was a low thing to do, so I dont think im all that crazy in thinking it was messed up.
Notice that in the retort there is still no reference to this mind blowing post i made that lost me this great job.
Is this directed at me Mark? I've kept my promise and haven't shared our PMs... why the personal attack? P.S. I still can't forget that night at FUN! >>

I am recently back to the forums after a 6 month break and I am seeing something very different when it comes to BST transactions. Maybe its just me but it sure seems like alot of deals are blowing up on the BST here. I have been reading up on the older threads that I missed while I was gone and some are very very sad. It appears that the numismatic community lost someone just a short while ago to something that may be a bit similar to this case, I do not know the whole story so I will not comment. The big arguments on this forum usually get both parties nowhere ( I know first hand becasuse I have started a few). I skimmed this thread and the whole thing appears to be a bit silly and not worth even posting about. I understand people wanting to post and out others whole steal from them and I agree if that is ever the case the other parties should be outed. In this thread coins were sold and paid for, there is some other drama but it does not appear to be about the coins ( unless I missed something "it does happen")

That was posted to prove a point. If you looked around you would see 2 things. 1 i offered that old guy more money. He refused it. 2 im not the one going around calling anyone a thief. Everyone of those customers got their money back.

While I agree pms should remai private, this man is trying to call me a liar in public based on things discussed there. None of the messages i posted reveal any private data other than the truth about what occurred.

You have said some very bad things about him, as well. If he posted your private messages, I missed it.
And you agree that private messages should remain private, yet don't adhere to it. The lack of "private data" really doesn't excuse it.
