Aside from Liberty motifs and dead Presidents what else would you like to see on US coinage?

What symbols best represent the US?

I agree with 'art', but the term is vague.
My specific suggestions:
Amber waves of grain.
Purple mountain majesty.
Each 'shining sea'.
The state quarter series and the national park series have some nice designs.
Also can go to the classic commem series for depictions of artistic eagles - Bridgeport comes to mind. Love looking at the eagle in its many variants.
...big brawny eagles!!!

This is like one of those political phone surveys where they trick you with the wording! I don't like dead presidents on our coins. It reeks of banana republic dictatorships. I don't think the founding fathers would like it, either.
Now, to answer the intent of your question, aside from Liberty motifs I would like to see eagles, allegorical themes and natural landmarks. And truth be told, I'm all for more of Lady Liberty, too!

i don't think it best represents the USA today, though
i just can't get with Sacajawea, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau (Sac's son) and SBA on our obverses. These are the only non-dead-presidents or Miss Liberty to be on OBVERSES of CLT...please correct me if i am wrong. Oh and including the "buffalo"
...but no turkeys.

uncle sam was some cartoonists idea, and it represents the governement. We know it's government money already so I wouldn't choose that one.
Whatever MsMorrisine's avatar is. He changes it as often as the Mint brings out new coins but I still think I'd like it.
Lance.
Personally...I have no issue with what they are doing right now. Some of the designs may fall short but the overall concept I support.
