No offense, but starting that at $150 is no way to sell a coin that generally goes for $90 on eBay. If it had FBL I understand. If you really want to raise this money, you need to let go of that "profit making" mentality and just be lucky & sell the darned thing

Yeah I know that. The point is, I think the OP has the right intention by wanting to turn a profit but he has to understand that this is not the time to do it. It's a nice coin though

Well some people pay a premium for toning. If it was blast white I can see comparing to what is going on ebay but for a toned piece Id like to see a little back. 150 was my cost from a forum member BTW so I am not just thinking profit.

I stated this in the BST thread but will repeat it here, any coin i sell in realtion to this I am willing to buy back when I can sometime next year at the same price regardless of market changes.
First, you need to take the money you have left and pay back as many of the people as you can. At the same time you need to sell whatever you have to sell as quickly as possible. Yes, you will get some negatives, but that is best outcome you can expect.
Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions

1) I know little of much. 2) DO NOT "get a rope." 3) Others are in very bad states as well - you are not alone, believe me. 4) If you worry about legal troubles as I just read perhaps you ought to stop talking about this in an open forum? I am just trying to help. 5) I am sorry this situation developed for you, for whatever reason.
Best wishes, Eric - sorry of all that came out wrong I just mean to express hope and support
I agree, do whatever you need to to get the money back. It would just make things worse f you got into legal trouble. Finding a job would be more difficult so avoid that at all cost. Do not talk about getting a rope, If you feel that way you need to reach out to someone right now and get some help, please! I would put the camera equipment and everything else on the BST just in case ebay suspends your account. Many people here buy camera equipment too. Best of Luck!

That and any other personal property you may own. Your buyers trusted you and sent you their hard earned $$$ in good faith and you bought personal property with it; so it's only fair that you sell said personal property to repay your buyers. The members here have been suprisingly kind and understanding toward your predicment and given you good advice but if they get a sense of you holding out and being more concerned about your profit <<I cant liquidate what I have without some profit>> than doing right by your buyers they will break out the tar & feathers with a quickness and apply the trident to your arse. I can't believe you wrote that, your buyers are out thousands of dollars and you're more worried about a paltry profit. Now is not the time to be concerned about profit!! You see what greed has gotten you already. We've all made stupid mistakes and suffered hardships because of it, you just have to man up, do what's right, even if it means hocking your gf's watch or getting a title loan on your car, and get on with your life. I'm not bashing you or being harsh or critical even though you'll probably take it that way. I hope it works out for you and if you remain positive and with a good attitude it will!

<< <i>If I read all of that right your toast on eBay and very likely PayPal will be bringing crimmial charges. You sold items you did not have and spent the money. >>
Great...i was starting to feel positive about resolving this until this post.
I didnt think this was any differnet than pre-sale items from the mint. I myself have been told stuff was out of stock after paying for it. I didnt spend all the money. I just dont have all of it. I thought I could buy other items for resale. That decision was made out of panic. >>
Ok, no judgments here.
One suggestion.....write or see in person, everyone involved. Explain your situation (out of work two years, desperation was settling in, etc.). Apologize. At that point, say the truth, whatever it is (I didn't understand a part of what you wrote) and ask if they will all accept an equal percentage of what you have left as the first repayment towards the full bill of whatever you owe them. Let them know this can go out in a few days max. Explain your plan to reimburse everyone completely and in the shortest period of time. Let them know you're committed rather than going into backruptcy, etc.
I would think most people would be understand and willing to work with you if they both understand the seriousness of the situation the past two years, your sincere apology now and you're plan to make everyone whole again as quickly as possible. You may even get the older gentleman to work with you again, suggest to him that you will make all the packages in the future right in front of him, etc.

Consider selling the camara equipment. If you bought it new and can back up the fact that it was just bought, you might get close to retail. Perhaps someone here can help you with a venue? Or are equipment sales allowed in BST (sorry, I am new). Just know that I have been looking for a camara and the options seem to be close to full retail on ebay or dodgy deals that are too good to be true on craigslist.
Good luck, hang in there. Nine grand is not enough to do anything really stupid about, so get THAT thought out of your head, at least.
I would talk to each of these buyers personally over the phone. Be prepared to have them call you or as a good faith gesture, give them your phone number and talk this out verbally. Going about this on e-mail is not the right way to approach this situation.

Nine grand is a lot of money and I would take this situation very seriously. Yes, overall the forum has been nice, but people are out money and none of us like to hear that.

Well stated and the best advice offered. The buyers have to be made whole and yes selling everything if needed to do so.
Sounds like you should go to the pawn shop and pawn whatever you can... electronics, computer, jewelry, whatever else you might own, to make good on these deals. Once you can liquidate some of your other holdings it sounds like you'll be ok. Then whatever interest rate the pawn shop charges you to get your stuff back should be an inexpensive lesson.
Well, I give him credit, he is listing more and more and selling more and more, if he keeps it up and stays the course, cuts all emotional ties to coins he has and starts refunding money and providing explanations he will be in good shape. Just my 2 cents.
Look guys...i relaize i "could" end up in court for this. But please that is a worst case scenario. Surely not having stock you though you would have isnt unprecedented here and I am clearly trying to do right. I dont need to hear that I can be in jail right now. i am in a big enough state of panic as it is. Surely it is possible that paypal will see my initicatie in refunding some of the money and realize fraud was not the intent here. A very BIG mistake yes, a mistake out of dire situations...but not fraud. If my intent was to fraud I know how to make it look better than thsi. Id sell one or 2 St Gaudens double keys and send an empty box with inusrance and play stupid and deal with just 1 angry buyer. That is not what i was looking to do. i am trying to start a business out frustration for not finding work. I have earning power. I am licensed futures broker and computer programmer who went from making 150k to ZERO overnight and havent even as much as landed an interview in those 2 years other than a few on the phone. The finance industry has been tough after eveything that has gone down and that is where my experience lies. I have nothing to hide. Anyone who wants to verify this can look me up on the NFA website and see I am legit. My name is REMOVED. I am actively registered and any court troubles would get my licensed banned. Im sorry I have put the board thru this but also very appreciativbe of everyones support. Just please dont scare me with jail talk. I am not trying to scam anyone.
I removed my name in the post above due to someones advice regarding google searches. Many here know it from buying and selling so I would gladly offer it to anyone via PMs if needed. In any case I wanted to share that thanks to the overwhelming support, especially from TexasNationals, I have refunded 2 buyers already. Here are the screen shots.
See! That wasn't so hard. No ropes or suicide in the shower.. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll pay back all the debt you owe. Very proud to see this. I love good endings
Your on the right path. I know you still have a long way to go ...but keep up the good work and with help and support from your fellow board members here hopefully you can rectify this whole thing...There's still a lot of good folks here willing to help out as long as your doing the right thing. Now keep your BST listing updated...im sure the old fella with the silver is waiting for his money as well. Good Luck!!!

No I dont owe that guy any money. Id still like to get those coins somehow but right now im more concerned with working out with these buyers. Maybe I can get partial with the cash I have on hand but then ill still be scared that I get the old bag of rocks pulled on me via ebay. Im stuck on what to do there so I am just gonna sell some more stuff. I started some ebay auctions tonight for camera equipment. I think im done with ebay after this. All from one returned ring. Maybe I overreacted but in doing so I relaize that I will need more capital to be able to rely on this.
Yes do right with the buyers first and foremost and like you said you only have $800 to your name to live off it in the next few months...Good luck Mumu hope you find a job soon dude!
After reading all of this the thing that strikes me most is the odd paternalistic tone of some members' replies. At least it comes across as odd to me. But I'm too jaded these days.
Man, you need to find a job. Do your best to fix it all and don't get so up tight, I'm sure it will be okay. Try not to make the same mistakes again. Good luck!

"First, you need to take the money you have left and pay back as many of the people as you can. At the same time you need to sell whatever you have to sell as quickly as possible. Yes, you will get some negatives, but that is best outcome you can expect. "
OK I spoke to ebay today. I am going to have 30 days to pay this back before my accounts are put on hold. After that I am going to get another 30 days where I can receive paypal payments, but will not be able to sell thru ebay. In the meantime i was told to urge the buyers to open cases and escalate them so that they could get their money back. My paypal would then be negative(which it already is after one open case this am) So I have a hard 30 days and a soft 60 days to get this fixed which should be no problem. Id like to thank everyone who has been helpful so far.
It's good that you now know what to expect for the next 30 to 60 days. It's also good to hear ebay has some process for situations like this. Now you can put your head down and get to work fixing it, and not stressing about the unknown.

Well I think its extremely careless for some of the people here to immediately start talking about jail and charges and courts. You get the wrong guy in a state of panic who has been unemployed long term like me and thinks this is the final nail in the coffin, and you might drive them to do something very terrible. I accept full blame for being an idiot here but you get someone in a state of desperation thinking hes going to jail and you dont know how hed react. 7500$ in the grand scheme of things isnt that much money when the money was used for re-sellable goods. This wasnt like I went out and got 10k worth of blow and now i dont know what to do. People here seem to be less harsh on sellers of fakes and the real scammers who just sell a big item and walk away never to be heard from again.
Now on the flip side of that there have also been some very tremendous helps thru this and in the end its good to see that overall people still care. I hope to pay it forward down the line.
I would say take the jail talk with a grain of salt as long as you show that you want to make good on the debt criminal charges are very unlikely. Just think of what you would have been portrayed as if one of the people that you sold to would have been a member here and came on and posted what you had done to them. Dog97 would not have been the only one mentioning the tar & feathers.
So now a buyer is mad because he says silver went up so I owe him more money. I responded that I understand his frustration but that ebay is not a venue for speculation of commodities and that this transaction is not effected as such. I understand how mad he must be but what else can I do except issue the refund...

So I should pay these guys what silver went up and then go live in the streets with my dog? Im sorry but trying to play the commodities route on ebay is as ridiculous a concept as my own stupidity here. Should I get money back now that the stuff ive purchased on ebay has gone down? Look you have gotten some good advice here, and I agree it is good you are trying to get it straigtened out. All I said was telling your buyers that ebay is not for speculation of commodities, while you speculated that you could get commodities in a HOT silver market and presold them, is ignorant. You are not going to satisfy buyers telling them that. Pay them back what they paid, take your lumps (negatives) and move on. SORRY will go a lot farther than "ebay is not for that". Worrying about getting a box of rocks back from a buyer just blows me away. You should not be selling on ebay in the first place. Good luck resolving this.

Clearly you did not put as much effort into reading what I actually said as you did in passing judgement and calling me names. Additioanlly I did apologize profusely but I dont think what i said to him was wrong. Also I dont see you posting anywhere in the pre-sale of mint items. The buyers have every right to be angry for the lost opportunity costs associated with your failed dealings. You owe them what they paid and nothing more, but silver went up about 15% in the time that this has dragged on so folks will be able to buy about 15% less for themselves with the money they had "spent" with you. However, I do think you are out of line by responding to buyers with the text in bold. That text essentially insults the buyer in addition to the frustration given to and opportunity cost saddled onto the buyer. Don't respond to your buyers with anything other than "I'm apologize" or some such response and you may avoid making them more upset than they already are with you and the situation.
I have not added to this for awhile now but I still don't understand why this is playing out so publicly and here, what the OP has to gain from taking an opinion lashing from us (the unaffected parties) is beyond me. I almost feel that they are looking for a hand out/sympathy or trying to garner higher bids for their BST coins. While I applaud them trying to make it right, I still feel they are a pretty big tool for messing up what was a completely avoidable situation in the first place and most likely indicative of why they have fallen on hard times currently. Maybe I am being too hard but I tend to think stupid things happen to stupid people: Sorry personal posts garner personal opinions

No offense, but starting that at $150 is no way to sell a coin that generally goes for $90 on eBay. If it had FBL I understand.
If you really want to raise this money, you need to let go of that "profit making" mentality and just be lucky & sell the darned thing

Good luck.

<< <i>Can you return or sell what ever it is you bought with the funds? >>
It is mostly coins and camera equipment. The camera eq was to help with the coin sales. All my coin stuff will be going for sale in the next week. it might just enough but some of the coins were going to be sold after grading so hopefully if paypal covers the refunds, theyll give me a month or so to get that sorted out. >>

Nine grand is a lot of money and I would take this situation very seriously. Yes, overall the forum has been nice, but people are out money and none of us like to hear that.
I'm sure it will work out!

<< 3 of those peace dollars have been sold btw. The other 2 wont get me anywhere near and dont want to lose them. I have higher priced inventory I am going to try and move quickly and see what I can do. If paypal would give me a month I think the total owed will be under 3k and the rest I can grind out or borrow. I just dont know how to go about asking for this time period from paypal. Im sending my gf in with some money once she gets back to try and make good on the 90% but that wont be for 10 days. >>
I'm not going to give you a hard time for what has happened since I don't think you had planned on doing this to other folks. However, once you put yourself in this position you essentially made all your coins available for sale if you want to make it right with those you have gone into transactions with via PayPal. >>
Well stated and the best advice offered. The buyers have to be made whole and yes selling everything if needed to do so.

<< <i>Your on the right path. >>

<< <i>It's good that you now know what to expect for the next 30 to 60 days. >>
Just think of what you would have been portrayed as if one of the people that you sold to would have been a member here and came on and posted what you had done to them.
Dog97 would not have been the only one mentioning the tar & feathers.
<< <i>So now a buyer is mad because he says silver went up so I owe him more money. This whole thread just makes me say wow. You are going to get some negatives, you admittedly screwed up. Telling your buyers what ebay is or isn't for in your position is just stupid.

While I agree with you...this guy is trying to make it right. A lot more than I can say for than 90% of the folks out there on ebay. Cut the guy a little slack, he is doing his best!! It is easy to get down and out this time of year.
Keep up the good work Mumu!! I am rootin for ya!

So I should pay these guys what silver went up and then go live in the streets with my dog? Im sorry but trying to play the commodities route on ebay is as ridiculous a concept as my own stupidity here. Should I get money back now that the stuff ive purchased on ebay has gone down? I didnt have anyone supporting my side(not here) when I got scammed out of 1200$ on ebay as a seller so im sorry if my sympathy for ebay buyers can only go as far as doing the best I can to get their money back.
Classic "Goose that Laid the Golden Egg" story. Almost to a tee.
You should never sell more than you have money to buy. Tough ending to a nice read.

This is a little differnet sure but not entirely. I dont know what else I can do but get these refunds out asap. Im done defending myself. i admitted fault. Im doing the best I can at this time. I am still with no income trying to make this right. Maybe if I had a job id make good on a portion of it but i am not a blood filled rock.
