Not anymore I bet. The pop just went from 22 to 32. I'd bet the PCGS price went from $4,500 to what $950?

I realize I am rather new to coins, but if the population of a given coin/grade goes up 50%, there should be a serious drop in price, right?
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, added to prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill, and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all its own, for the children and the children yet unborn, and the pity of it is, that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

Eh, I don't think it'd drop THAT much. Maybe just to like, $3000 or so.

Not sure the price will drop much. I have had outstanding orders for these for years. This is a difficult coin to find and easy to sell.

In any case, PCGS doesn't drop the price just because the pops rise. They report the values, not the pops. If these coins sell for near the price guide levels, then why should the price drop???

    You suck Marty!!!

    Is this a giveaway?
Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!
  • ....I know it's fun to brag , but I think it would have served you better to sell some of them and then posted how your sucking abilities are unparalleled !

The reason the price was so high was supply/demand . I doubt Mr Sego has standing orders for 10 of them !

I'm going to say the price will fall like a rock now - to below 1000$

How can you not send all of the 68's back in for a + or a 69? Seems that PCGS just adds 50% to each high grade + coin in the price giude

    Maybe even less.

I remember when the population of MS67 1977 Eisenhower Dollar doubled over night, it only dropped the price of the coins by about $500. $6,000 down to $5,500.

High pops on a popular coin simply means more expensive coins to go around. Otherwise the 55/55 Lincoln wouldn't be so danged expensive! PCGS Pops of around 3,300 yet you can't touch one of the lowest grades for less than $700!

Marty, do you consider this a "Suckable" moment??? image

I will never forget this PM from the MadOne in January of 2009.....

And I quote: "Bad Goldbully!!! Giving out the coveted YOU SUCK to a bullion deal!!! Remember the YOU SUCK is when someone buys something very low (ie. $5-20) and makes a coin worth a sh*tload of money! (ie. $10,000 - $20,000). This bullion doesn't even come close to a YOU SUCK!!!!"

Sorry, Marty....I was not aware of the YOU SUCK criteria.

Is there such a YOU SUCK thread???

I'm ashamed, I've awarded an undeserving candidate.
