Happy Halloween.
Go Steelers!
Thankfully gold was aroud $600 when I did my 7070 with the gold page! It must hurt nowadays.

thanks, but man, does it ever hurt
Silly me waited way too long to start on the gold page. I also just bought this 1899 Double Eagle (PCGS MS62) to crack out for the album. Oh well...it's fun -Preussen

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I dont see a grade posted but Ill guess MS62 or MS63 (hard to tell without getting a good look at the luster)
<< <i>Lots of dies were used to stike this high mintage issue...over 4 million pieces, and the OP coin shows evidence of relapping on both the obverse and reverse. The nose does blend into the field after relapping, and the ribbon details on the reverse, as well as the date, look less defined. The die crack was probably a terminal event for this obverse die.

Thanks for the interesting info, and thanks to everyone for the nice comments. The $1 coin was in an NGC MS62 slab, and had the "Green Bean." Both coins have been liberated and are now resting comfortably in my album. -Preussen
