    from what one sees in recent PCGS slabs my guess is xf45

    The image looks a little off on my screen- the fields and the portrait almost have this polished look- hopefully it is just the lighting

    If it is just the lighting, then EF45 seems right

    My immediate reaction was also XF 45 -
    but it wouldn't surprise me to see it in an
    AU 50 holder [ the Reverse looks AU 50 - IMHO ]

    Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

    not to be the downer ... but although EF45 details are there, I would be surprised if the coin grades other than genuine

    looks like it had a pretty heavy claen up at one time

    Still an amazingly tough coin to find with that much "meat" left

    Jeeze, that's tough to grade, everybody knows I'm a tight arse with grades but I'm betting there smoe unworn surface under the dark toning in the protected areas so I'm wanting to say AU-50 but I'll stick with 45. It's obviously dipped & retoned and there appears to be smoe possible PVC damage around the AME in AMERICA on the rev and a staple scratch under the eagles right wing.
    Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    I'd call it an XF40; reverse scratch knocks it down a bit. Strong for a 97-O

    Gotta go at least 40, plenty of detail will likely go 45 if mostly original.
