W SILVER EAGLES ARE TAKING OFF IN PRICE
I have been watching the price of these coins and they are really going up fast. It is hard to find any listed for under $35 anymore without a high shipping fee.
Is it because the mint is not making any uncirculated coins this year?

They are still available on Ebay in $30-$35 range if you are patient.
Has anybody checked any of these sets for 08/07 reverse. I have 10 sets of these in their original cellophane wrapper and have not even opened the mint box yet.
There were numerous sales in $33 range over last 2 weeks though recent several dollar jump in silver prices may make them a thing of the past, at least for now.
Also consider you are getting $5 face in presidents/native american $1s.
No box or COA but if you are slabbing coins it still nets the ASE to $30 range.
I had two sets. I checked one two years ago. no reverse. so left the other one wrapped.
Box of 20
I've got lots of boxes and coa's but I think I am too late to get bargains on the coins.

That must have been an interesting looking coin with no reverse.....

Those 08/07's have got to be somewhere. The mint says 46,000 were made and nowhere near that amount has been accounted for. PCGS has only graded 3731 of them.
<< <i>A lot of owners likely have no idea that they have them. Many are bought by non-collectors as bullion. One of my co-workers had nearly 30 of them. Had I not told him what he had he would have sold them as bullion. >>
I guess that is true but do you suppose some could be in those 6 coin sets?
I didn't see any 07/08s in the Dollar sets that I opened. I thought the problem was fixed before those were issued, but I could be wrong.
Happy hunting!

I'm not the closest follower of the series, but it seems to me that the spot price of silver is having an effect.

I hope so...I have 20 of those sets unopened...opened one way back and no 08/07
I opened 10 of my sets also but still have 10 sets unopened. I did not find any but there are still a lot of these 08/07's unaccounted for.
Hell that's under spot now ! ! !

Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I sold a 1st strike MS70 last week for $2195 that I got from the mint. I probably should have kept it but the old saying " a bird in the bush" comes to mind.
I think you did great.....birds don't get milk spots.......

Not unless they are under a cow and you had better be ready to move if she does because that brown stuff stinks.
