I was thinking the half and tenth ounce.
What are the mintages of each denominations?

The 2009 Margaret Taylor first spouse could be a low mintage future player.
Mitch..these 2010 AGE proofs should sell out quick. Won't goldline be buying the crap out of them straight from the mint?
not a hot flip.
I'm still getting a set.

Agreed, and I'll be getting a set also.
Looking forward to my first proof GAE.Finances dictate the half and the quarter for now.Should be able to pick up the tenth and the ounce in the secondary market easily
<< <i>No matter how hard I try, I just can't figure a reason to be terribly aggressive with these.

Nothing that can't be satisfied by the UNCs.

I reckon they will be worth at grade PR70DCAM spot plus 20% on the best day. Save your money, these Eagles are crap. In fact, there isn't a single PR70DCAM Gold Eagle that is worth more than 20% over spot and you are a FOOL if you pay more.
Unless it's one of my eBay auctions of course.
Maybe it's time to puck up.
I think you can make money, but you need volume, which means large outlays of money. This pretty much squeezes out the little guy.
Hoard the keys.
<< <i>Does any one know the price's yet? I'am going for the 1/10 and the 1/4 But I need to know the prices 1st.
Maybe we can work a trade for that corroded nickel you are sadly stuck with.

Whitch one.

Fivecents - I can't speak for what Goldline might or might not do, but, it appears proof gold has been available for the past month within 5%-10% in price of the anticipated mint asking price (and at times for even less). Again, I am having a very hard time trying to convince myself to buy these coins. I am still searching for a reason.

The decrease in proof gold was due to the anticipated release (and supply) of these AGEs from the Mint. If they sell out quickly, shouldn't there be a pop in the proof gold market?

No guarantees, but I think the best play is to sit back and wait for the proof Silver Eagles.
On the other hand, if these coins sell out ASAP, then there is the possibility of a nice move up in proof gold levels... that sounds logical to me.
What to do ....

This is what I am thinking.
I also think a FS 70 will sell nicely. (u won't lose money).
The question for me is, is it worth the hassle. You give my 10 70's at cost, I'm in, 10 - 69's, wasting my time.
<< <i>I also think a FS 70 will sell nicely. (u won't lose money) >>
that's not happening on the Buchanan's Liberty FS 70's....
The proof buff's sold just above cost for a small profit, but gold was in the 1100s, not 1300s.
I'm thinking as the price of gold higher now, the premium people are comfortable paying is smaller.... making a cost effective flip even harder.
And I'm still going to say: the mintage limit is a lot, lot higher than previous years sales have totaled. I do not predict a sell out at all. There are more cost effective gold coins than the proofs... the AGE bullion.

1/2 oz ---- $806.00
1/4 oz ---- $415.50

Why would the proof silver eagles be any better?

You would now pay $1992 per coin and if platinum inches to $1750, you would pay $2092!

I hear that, $1500 oz is only 10% from here and could happen by the end of the year. That would make these melt.....if only we knew.
But still, the up front cost is high and what's the demand going to be? The client base is getting smaller for this kind of cash.

I'm still waiting for the 2010 resale market to catch on

Two reasons. Common proof Silver Eagles are currently fetching higher prices than the $45.95 the Mint is charging for the 2010's, so downside risk is low. Also, potential low mintage -- announcement, striking and sales are taking place very late in the year, so total mintage could possibly be under 500,000, which is where premiums to the common date price begin to appear.
Possible: 1 oz $1635
1/2oz $831
1/4oz $428
1/10oz $185.50

Gold's down today. I'm going to wait...
The way I look at it not a lot of downside on the proof eagles at the moment. On the flip side, not huge upside, but certainly some.

I am going to buy some of the relatively low mintage 1/4 and 1/2 ouncers and forget about 'em.

When they turn orange and crusty, they'll be cool. Until then, I'll wait for them to walk in the shop in any denomination over a quarter ounce. I'll post a photo of the first one that comes in, along with a copy of a blank 1099.

Segoja - When I saw your posting on the other thread related to AGE coins, I actually that you may have AGREED with my earlier statement of having difficulty finding a reason to be terribly aggressive with these. Obviously, if both of us were being "terribly aggressive", we could have ordered more than roughly (25) ozs - no?
But, as I stated later on, I was pleased to see the Mint price at $1585/oz instead of $1,635/oz and while I am still not "terribly aggressive" right now, I did reverse an earlier personal position of mine to not buy any.
