I picked up this 66RD wheatie. 1921 was one of the toughest Philly coins of the era. Dies were tired and worn out.

I picked up this. I'm just kind of concerned whether I should send it in for a re-holder. If you look closely at the reverse of the slab, you'll see that there are some scrape marks on the hologram, and that I don't like. But all in all, I think it's a nice pick-up.

If the NGC sticker bothers you, go for it. But it wouldn't bother me a bit. I've had some slabs where the darned things were half torn off (from dealers putting their stickers on top and then someone peeling them off).

I was 1 for 1 in the Heritage auction, winning what I hope is a nice addition to my middle date cent collection.
Looks like easy AU details, I just hope the color looks good when it gets home.

While I no longer actively collect Standing Liberty Quarters after I completed my set a few year back, I just could not pass this one up. The obverse is graced by a wonderful, eye appealing rainbow tone. I almost missed it as the toning was so subtle until I tilted it in some good light. I wish I could get better pictures of it.

I picked up a couple of dimes...but I am still pissed at myself for the one that got away. I was trying to click the bid button and just wasn't quick enough to increase my bid. It seems like they had technical difficulties and some auction pieces sat there for 5 minutes and others just a half second. Grrrrr.

Nice 21 cent, I love that.

Also like the MS67 Iowa. Reminds me a pq toner I had 2 yrs ago (paid $450) that I got tired of seeing drop in price. It sold at auction for $350 in 2009.

That 1838-0 dime is also sweet. At first glance looks VFish but with the usual weaker strikes on the 38-0 it's probably a technical XF45+ with all that luster though I'd be surprised if PCGS saw it any higher than XF40. I made the first MS65 of this date back in 1988. But back then, there weren't all that many tougher dates in MS64, let alone MS65 or higher.

I was lucky enough to win eight out of twelve.

Picked up a couple of Dimes for my Parents' birthyear sets
[ 1917-S MS 66 & 1921-D MS 64 - both Eliasberg coins]
and IHC for my Grandfather's MS birthyear set [ 1889- MS 64RB ]
... filled two holes in my V Nickel AU 58 set [ 1887 & 1888 ]
and also got a couple of Barbers [ 1893-P Dime in 65 and a 1901-P Quarter in 64 ]
... and lastly, a great 1857 FEC in 58 with a CAC.

Yes, I overpaid (according to Grey Sheet only) for 3 coins. This is not a complaint but more a commentary that nice coins almost always sell at a premium.

Nice coin Realone. Mind if I ask what she sold for? I have one that looks very similar with more rainbow toning that I bought at Teletrade a couple of years ago that I paid $825 or $850 for. Flatwoods I like the look of your coin too. Tony.

I scored a 1922-P Peace dollar (MS66 PCGS) that had this incredible frosty cameo, like a Morgan, covering most of Liberty's portrait and especially thick on her hair and on the reverse the entire eagle was bathed in frost. I've never seen anything like it, simply an amazing specimen!

Here's the highlight from the group of items that I was interested in. It has the signatures of all the Mercury 7 astronauts; Alan Shepard, "Gus" Grissom, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Wally Schirra, "Gordo" Cooper, "Deke" Slayton; and Bill Dana's signature too (Dana was a comedian who was considered the "unofficial" 8th Mercury astronaut). I wasn't planning on bidding on it as I thought it would be out of my price range, but for whatever reason (the economy?) it only went for about half of the low end estimate so I put in a WTF bid and won it.
