I dont know what happened, but I can barely do anything on the site without getting all kinds of virus & malware warnings.
EDIT/UPDATE: Well here's what I did. I did a system restore to 2 weeks ago and no problems here since doing so. Here meaning this website. Honestly dont know what happened but it appears to be alright now. I wasnt trying to cause a widespread panic, just letting other know of a potential problem. I will change the title to something less alarming. Thanks for all of your help.

I think it is HIGHLY likely the problem is on your end. I suggest you revise the title of this thread. It will create unnecessary alarm.

You should change the title. Many people will just log off the site without opening this thread and finding out what is happening.
There are certain browsers (Apple's Safari for example) that will pop up a red-titled warning message "Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer".
Google has a master list of what it considers 'infected servers'. It's best not to visit these servers.
Some folks here have siglines with images in them. Sometimes an image is hosted from an infected server.
You'll never get a virus from a server in this way. But sometimes it'll pop up that Google warning. And that is annoying indeed.
It would be nice if the users who hosted images that come from these servers would move the sigline images to some other server not in this 'black list'. But perhaps the users in question don't even see the problem. It's specific to some browsers; other folks will never see this warning.

Typical symptom is your home page has been taken over by a site trying to sell you uncessary software to fix your problem, a classic sign of infection. Or you may just get pop-ups like the OP that tell you that you are infected. All their costly fix does is uncheck a box that got checked by them when they infected you (you can do this yourself in just minutes):
Click on tools in the IE toolbar
Click on internet options
Click on connections tab
Click LAN settings button
Make sure proxy server box is unchecked (the infection checks this block redirecting you to their product)
After unchecking the block run a good spyware program (I use spysweeper with antivirus, good inexpensive download) to remove any remaining hidden pieces.
This is an easy fix for a nightmare of a problem. I would save these instructions, you will need them sooner or later. Doesn't hurt to check this occasionally, you could be infected and not know it.

Damn, try to warn people of a potential problem and get judged just because it's not happening to them. Nice crowd here. Last time I give any warning of anything here.

I had a similar experience here a few days ago. My Norton program kept refusing to open random pages on this site, but acted fine everywhere else. It hasn't happened again since about Thursday, but something on here would seem to occasionally trip something.
