The uploading process doesn't seem to be very user friendly. It took me a while to figure it out. Perhaps if the process was a little easier, more people would be inclined to contribute. I'm not sure if that's possible, but I just wanted to let you know. Just trying to help, not bashing the site, I really think it's a great idea.

Somehow I managed to fill in the 34 P Washington Quarter.
Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions
  • I contributed a blurb and a photo on the 1908 No Motto Saint a year or so ago.

I'm surprised this site has gotten such little traffic. I would hope that it would have expanded a lot more by now. I guess most of us have resigned ourselves to slugging out the fees for the one written by the experts.

It's as one would expect from any committee: some useful, some useless, and no responsibility for content.

Hmmmm.... no controls? That is not good. Cheers, RickO

some of the work I did on the site got edited or deleted. Nature of wiki stuff, I guess. Certainly limits one's willingness to continuously upgrade and refine.

    Have you made any contributions?

Nope. Without someone at PCGS taking responsibility, there is no point in contributing the work, then finding it screwed up the next day. If PCGS values the research, they can pay for it.

To me, it seems strange to have CoinFacts.com, PCGS CoinFacts, and CoinFacts Wiki.

    * CoinFacts.com - Deprecated, but still has historical content
    * PCGS CoinFacts - Officially sponsored and up to date
    * CoinFacts Wiki - Why support if official PCGS effort is behind PCGS CoinFacts, not CoinFacts Wiki?

I'm not sure of the reason behind CoinFacts Wiki if PCGS wants everyone to subscribe to PCGS CoinFacts.

Coinfacts Wiki gives us commoners a method of dispensing information on a "trust" basis. Some may be right and some may be wrong based upon the contributors knowledge level.

    Just like Wikipedia.

    Just like IMDB.

There are moderate controls in place but it's more or less the honor system and "most" people that would take the time to contribute are honest. If incorrect information is presented then its editable.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

But do either of them run a competing paid-membership site?
