Close date, low 4 , it's base is below base arc line of 180. LIB a little
closer spaced than the rest of LIBERTY.

Irregularly spaced legend. Final A very close to ribbon. F in HALF lacks
right foot, while F in OF is normal. Minute spur in right end of fraction bar.
    Zeros in denominator almost touch.

Thanks guys. Excitement over. I don't think mine is one . The F in HALF doesn't lack the
right foot, while F in OF

I was looking at the old Coinfacts:
    http://www.coinfacts.com/half_cents/1804_half_cents/1804_half_cent_c02.htm

and noticed the die cud in RTY which mine has but I think mine is more like this one:

Just out of couriosity what are the diagnostics for Cohen 9?

The T in CENT looks slightly raised and tilted right.

I think that the census on this variety is now up to 15 to 20 examples. This was the only 1804 half cent variety that I needed to complete the 1804 die variety set before I threw in the towel more than a decade years. One collector has 5 or 6 examples of the pieces that are known.

A dealer offered a ground salvage example that would have completed my set. The price was over $7,000. That was God's way of telling me it was time to call it quits on this collection. image This half cent was made from the obverse of 1804 C-4 and the reverse used for the 1803 C-3 and the 1804 C-1

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
