NEWPS from Boston and a completion of a four year search

This was my first ANA and I had a GREAT time during my three days. I was able to see so many objects outside of my collecting realm that I had to keep asking, "what is that"? I learned a lot. My favorite part of the trip was the people. New friends made as well as old relationships enhanced. You can't beat that. It's a great industry when a guy like me can sit and share drinks with three of the greatest collectors of this era and made to feel right at home. Between these three guys they have forgotton more then I will ever know. I'm thankful for the experience.

Coin 1. This is a coin that will not actually make it into my set as it's a dupe. However, it was love at first sight. I actually found it at the first table vistied at the ANA which made me a little nervous coming out blazing. The slab reminds me of a Nascar.

Coin 2. I made a decision last year to put together a well matched set of Oregons in 67. I have a 26-P as my standard bearer. This 38-S could be it's sister. To me the reverse is the money side on Oregons. It was pleased to buy this. Two down on this quest.....

Coin 3. I've been looking for "my perfect" Antietam for nearly four years. This coin spoke to me from across the table and convinced me that overpaying can atually feel good at times. It turned out to be a no brainer as I enjoy the heck out of this coin. The run of Civil War commem issues is now complete, three years longer then I anticipated but it feels pretty cool to knock a small sub set off. Coin 2 and 3 were bought at the very last table I visited.

Oh my, that Antietam is gorgeous, well they all are but especially that one. I've walked across the Burnside Bridge at the Antietam battleground, a site that is well worth visiting.

I'm trying to figure out which one is my favorite one, and it's gotta' be either the Oregon or the Antietam, but I can't decide because they are both SO sweet! Congrats on the pickups!

    Outstanding!

All are wonderful, but the Oregon is something else... the walker's no slouch either... come to think of it, that Antietam is awesome too.

    Thanks for sharing with us!

I am pretty sure those coins were both at Certified Assets table at one time during the show.

    What everybody else said.

The toning on the Oregon makes one feel the heat on that trail.

Agree on all the above and I'm jealous -- you did a lot better at the show than I did! Really like the Antietam. Enjoy them!
