Beautiful pictures.... but that color is all wrong... does not say 'copper' at all.. too bad - as nice as it is, I would not want it in that condition. Cheers, RickO

I agree, definitely helped in some way. That said, I don't mind the color and wouldn't mind owning it.
I for one love the coins and I am surprised that some many experts on this forum can look at an image and know without a doubt that a coin has been messed with? Blue can and does occur naturally on copper especially proof copper but now every blue toned copper coin is automatically labeled as being treated with MS70 and there is just simply no way to tell that.....especially based on a photo. I would caution everyone that looks at the coins in the thread to not automatically jump to conclusions because there are a few dealer/collectors who have thrown the baby out with the bath water when it comes to any blue copper.

I'm sure not going to claim I know whether those coins are original or not. But, based on the images, which is all I have to go on, my guess is that something was done to them.
The color looks off and they appear overly glossy. Maybe they're great coins, or maybe they have been brushed and/or something else has been done to them. Either way, the images appear to be excellent.
I was going to PM the OP that they look recolored but since the question has already been brought up, I'll post my opinion that they look recolored. But very nice. I'll guess they're in NGC holders. --Jerry

Can somebody please link the other thread where we recently discussed recolored copper at length? I can't find it in the few minutes I have before heading out. --Jerry
Mark....the point I am trying to make is that all blue copper is now guilty by association and I think a lot of the pieces being labeled probably haven't been messed with....have the coins in this thread...well that's anyone's guess and folks are certainly entitled to their opinions .....

My comment is more based on the color, luster, and consistency of the brown is what makes a recolored coin identifiable. The blue isn't so much of a concern to me. --Jerry
