  The sets might be on backorder but you can still order them online...they are still for sale on the Mint's site...

  They may have also pulled the sets to do a sampling and assessment of how many missing edge lettering coins got out this time.............

  I wouldn't "read" too much in a US Mint Backordered Status since that status can change on a daily basis. Additionally, check your calendar since Sept 1st just isn't that far away.
  My initial order of 10 on July 15th went to backordered until 7/29 almost immediately. It changed a couple days later.

  I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
