Final Yellowstone NP Quarter Mintages
Just found these numbers posted on cointalk.com and another site:
Hot Springs-P-29,000,000 D-30,600,000
Yellowstone-P-34,800,000 D-33,600,000
Astonishingly low numbers for arguably the most popular subject in the entire series. IMO, 2010 quarters are really setting up to be the keys for the entire series going forward. As the economy picks up, mintages should increase dramatically. Only question is, how many of these 2010s are being squirreled away as rolls and bags, and how many are getting released out into the public? I still haven't found a single Hot Springs or Yellowstone quarter in circulation. Has anyone else?
Give me some CHAT, people!

There is little demand for the new series. Collectors are burnt out on quarters.

Well, for now they are. But look what's happening to the First Spouse coins right now. I believe that as soon as news of these low mintages percolates, interest could well be revived.

110% agree.
I tried to do the SHQs w/ my young son. Before he was ready, initially, so I could figure things out, then with him near the end of them.
Too many different designs. Too hard to get at face value (and in UNC). Making the satin finish for the mint sets helped to kill desire and continuity for some folks as well.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
I don't know if the cause is burnout due to too many new issues or disappointment at the poor "investment" performance of the State Parks Quarters.
It is probably a little of both.
The National Parks Quarters also have very low visibility. I still haven't received one in change.

I'm with you on this one. My goal is to put together the entire series in the special mint paper

I thought the 100 million mintage quarters would be the keys.
Without those, I had gotten into them too late to get the early ones in BU for my son.
But then, as the USMint usually does (thank you Moy!
I think I still have a couple of unopened ones (I bought at least a couple and opened 1 to start the set), but it's a pure shame they aren't doing this type of thing still.
The premium they make on the bags ($37.50 for a $25 face value bag) should be enough to make it worthwhile, but they don't do it.
