Above face value? Sure. Most all of them (aside from maybe the modern halves and dollars).
The 1968 and 1969 halves are 40% silver so they are above face.

    The 1916-d dime....barber or merc?

Grades come into play on these as well...even as circ coins.
Hopefully you, nor previous owners, have tried to clean them and they are all unharmed image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • all uncleaned. was in a envelope like someone forgot them.
The 1916 dime is hard to see. I think that there is a "w" to the right and above the date

    <<any worth above face value?>>

Did u purchase the 8 silver dollars for face? If so, you did well, 6.18 oz. of fine silver for 8 bucks, nice little score.
If the 21's are Peace dollars, you did more than well, might qualify for a "YOU SUCK" award.

EDIT: The designer's monogram AW is to the right of the neck, it's not the mintmark.
Mintmark is located on the reverse, to the right of the E in ONE.

morgans one is a "d" one "s .... "you suck"?

just checking the coins on PCGS registry with the picture. given me a clearer picture of what to look for.

the 1916 is still a "d or s" I can see a mint mark near the "E" but my eyes can not see it clearly. will have to find a magnifying glass. If it is a "d" or "s" what value could it have if I would sell it. ( it is very worn)

Sounds like quite the deal. How about a picture of that 1821 half and the reverse of the dime? Just the melt value will almost get you a "suck" award! Congrats!

I can't really see much with the dime. Looks like it has seen better days...but take a close up where the mint mark is and will give us a better idea of what you have. Also take bigger photos of the half, both sides and post . I don't know them well but it might be a rare variety. I'm sure with large photos the experts will let you know if you scored with that one.

Even though the 16-d was only a teaser, you still did good on the bunch.

  • I am not a coin collector, so I did not know where the mint mark was on this coin. But with the help of others I have been shown where to find the mark. With a better scan of the coin, hopefully I can have a better understanding of this coin with the help of others.

Even from the small photo that early half is probably worth more than $50 so you did well! How about the 1858 cent, does that look like the dime or the half?

depends if you got coins you wanted at a price you were willing to pay at a cost that is as close to a market standard price as one could be.

Your coins, if undamaged (the 1916 dime is shot and worth only its silver content) are worth (retail) in the neighborhood of $215. Maybe more, depending upon the condition of these coins.

    The 1821 half looks nice.

Edit to adjust for price of silver at $19.10 per oz.

If it actually is a genuine 16-D it's still worth a couple hundred.

Overall, considering the pictures are not of a quality to judge grade, for the price, I would say you are ahead of the game. Cheers, RickO

I think that the 1916-D is a 1916-S. You did ok.
