Yes, every dealer has read about Julian's incident yet some still put themselves at risk. This is foolish. I would add that everyone has read about the increased death and injury totals from those who drive without using their seatbelts, those who ride bicycles or motorcycles without protective head gear and those who smoke yet their are millions of folks each day who put their lives on the line from the decisions they make. Foolish decisions all around? You bet. Unbelievable? Unfortunately, no.

<< <i>Folks are making a point of the foolish decisions that each of these dealers made after the Parsippany show and there is no debating that they increased their risks greatly from their decisions. However, at the peril of somehow seeming to reduce the foolishness of the decisions, I would just like to mention that most folks who read or post to these boards have made foolish decisions or decisions that increase risk from time to time, too. Has anyone ever driven without putting their seat belt on? How about riding a bicycle or motorcycle without protective head gear? Who here has ever smoked? Many times people receive no negative consequence from putting their health, life or wealth in danger, but all you need is one time for this to play out negatively and it can be quite bad. >>

Agreed Tom. In each case, it's a matter of (not to make light of it but) playing the odds......
Trying to calculate the odds of the upside occurring vs. the downside, as well as weighing what might be gained or lost in each scenario, and factoring all of that into a "bet".

I do not believe that you could have even bought a bike helment when i was growing up. Crime is here to stay and will probably get worse, about the best you could do is try to reduce your chance of being a victim.

If i was a dealer i would try to be insured and then carry the most valuable on my person if i had to stop and eat. I would also make sure i read and understood the fine print.

My best friend died in a motorcycle crash and he was wearing a helmet [always did]. Helmet or none isn't always the factor.

Now at Melville show today, George one of the show owners made a point to go around to each dealer and remind them about loading their cars, providing someone to help if requested, and making sure people did not stop along the way back.

Its nice to see a show promotor taking the extra step to protect the dealers....

Everyone has a date with Destiny or Fate. Those two girls are usually blind dates, too image

What we need is someone like "Q" (of 007 fame) to devise a dye pack that explodes upon opening of a trunk w/o being disabled remotely beforehand..
  • Are all these crimes in the same geographical area? It seems that way. They seem to be "contained." If so, I wonder why that is.

Still leaving valuabales in cars???? Come on already. how many times do we have to see these alerts? No one should be leaving coins in vehicles. Grow up, wake up, whatever.
