How long does it take to get your first submission back?

Bayard1908Bayard1908 Posts: 4,091 ✭✭✭✭
I will probably be moving to a new city about 2 months from now.

If I joined PCGS and sent in 8 coins without delay, how long would it take for me to get them back? I don't want the coins to get shipped to my old address after I have moved. Should I wait until after I move to join PCGS?

A regular submission should make it back no problem. An economy submission might cut it close.

My last submission (economy) took a full month, mailing times not included. If you use registered mail one or both directions that may exceed your two months...

...maybe wait until you made the move. just in case you need the submission fees for an emergency. image like

Sometimes they keep the coins and don't give them back. image

It all depends what your submitting ... my "modern" submission only took about 2 weeks.

The 8 free submissions offered when you join as a Collectors Club Member (as stated in the original post) are graded as Regular Submissions which should post grades within 15 business days. Sometimes sooner.

Assuming you're not submitting $20 gold pieces or ultra rare coins, you should be fine remembering that PCGS now returns submissions via Priority Mail.
