My friend picked this coin up a couple of weeks ago and ask me to shoot it and gather some opinions of it. I am not a good photographer, so bear with me here.

Thanks for all the comments and opinions.

Tell you what, it's a solid XF-45 for sure. Beyond that would be guessing.

I meant to ask, what's GTG stand for?

AU55 is my guess. However, I may be interpreting a weak strike as wear. If that's the case. MS62.

Sorry but either your images or the surface conditions on this WLH look a bit fruity image

Grade wise if not NET Graded it looks to be higher then AU53, somewhere between a very choice AU55 or even AU58.

  • Coin is definitely an AU IMHO

My guess is between an AU50--55----depending on what the surfaces look like in hand. From what I can tell from the pictures, I'm leaning towards the Au53--55. Bob [supertooth]

I don't see much wear on the coin at all, and it looks to have excellent luster, so I'll go with AU55 as my grade guess. Frankly, I don't understand the low AU and high XF grade guesses in this thread.

    I agree with you Mark.

I am with the AU55 crowd, but this also demonstrates why blowing up a coin far in excess of its actual size does not necessarily help either. The rims on the obverse certainly will look different in the correct size. I might push to a 58, but you can't make more than an educated guess, possibly a wag from the pictures.

    All that said, Nice coin!!

Yeah, I definately see luster on the coin. I'd guess 55 to 58. I like it. As to your "friend"...As long as you like it, that is all that matters.

Am I the only one who can see the surfaces everyone claims to not see? I think its a 58.

I shot a low ball grade because I did not feel the image provided, did not send a true depiction of the actual coin. In essence, I was grading the image...sorry if I disappointed you.

I'm a bit confused. I thought from the "GTG" portion of the thread title, that the coin had recently been submitted for grading. But it is apparently in an older, green label holder.
