Would you say this BUST HALF is undergraded?

It is graded in an OLD ANACS holder as XF 45.

AU-50 at best due to relative lack of luster

Due to the obvious friction rub on the high spots in the hair and eagles wing crooks, there is no way it can be considered About Uncirculated.

XF-45 maxed out is just fine with me. If I owned the coin, I'd be yelling AU all the way...but I don't, so I won't.

Love the look. She's shot 50 depending on the luster. Certainly looks like AU meat but crust can hold em back sometimes.

ANACS has it right in my opinion. However with market grading and the coins eye appeal again in my opinion I would not be surprised to see it in an AU 50 slab.

There is a softness to the features on the coin

and it seems as if it has been polished to some degree.

I say it will get a genuine.

I would expect to get an AU on resubmission, unless there is something on the coin
that we can't see in the images.

    A little over priced IMO.

Good question. I'd be interested to know if a resubmit gets a higher grade. If it does go 50, then good for you. Great looking coin, but hard to just luster from the pics.

A coin can be AU re state of wear, but if it doesn't have any original mint luster, it's maxed out at XF 45. Decades ago, before the TPGs, I had several early Lincoln Cents (a 14 S and 23 S) which were brown AUs, but are now XF 45s for this reason.

How is the luster in-hand, Ankur?

My sense is that the difference between coins in this grade is generally decided by the amount of luster left on the coin, and your pictures are unclear in this regard (as most pictures are).

So how is the luster in-hand?

There is still some luster present, but its hard to capture with a camera.

XF 45 with a little luster seems about right. It's a very nice coin.

I like it and I would not let plastic govern the decision with this one. This seems to be the type of coin that is just priced and the grade is secondary- I just hope someone does not try to dip it
