Personally, I have 1, the early "Roller" design with the scary-face-in-the-space-mask astronaut.

I've got a 2x2 box full, and then some. Alas, no gold! Hard to pick a favorite, but I do like the Daniel Carr presidency piece. Maybe the best is the bimetallic $2 prototype coin.

He was credited with the concepts for a few and maybe another one directly... I think that's been posted here before. US State Quarters.

In my opinion, at least $65 to $70, if not more.

The two proof versions of this same issue sold for $69 and $111, respectively on ebay a few days ago.

(I own the coins shown). Hard to tell where to draw the line.

Alright Daniel, I have to hit it: the web presence is frustrating with all your sites. Feels like I have to hit 4 websites, in various stages of completion, to get all your info, with pop-up action being a bit much.

I've spent my 9-5 for the past 2.5 years making sure corporate Coca-Cola's intranet is in order on the info-acrchitect tip to solve for things like this, and the past 16 years doing the same flavor for some fairly big other folks. The fixes are easy, who do you have putting all those together for you??

Sorry about that. I put them together myself. Actually, there are three main sites, not four. Still that it two too many, I suppose. I've been evolving away from the first (oldest) one that has the sculpting software on it. I may move a couple things from it and then abandon it in place. The other two I plan to keep as-is, but add more content along the way.

I own a Grabener Press '25' (which I think looks very similar to the Hot Springs quarter...but we know D. Carr made them first..sorry, but used Tazmics blue quarter for comparison):

Whoo-Hoo! Just got my complete 2010 set of Ameros and LOVE 'EM! Not a stinker in the bunch. I also wish I'd bought more in earlier years, but finances wouldn't permit. This year, with the abysmal offerings from the U.S. Mint, I am happy to own Ameros instead!

I guess the only consolation on the similarities is that the two themes are the first things you think about with Maine and PR respectively (El Moro, is it?). I like your designs a lot better and am glad you put the coqui frog on it. Those things are deafening!

What's the involvement in creating your dies? And what are your requirements for some commission strikes?

Reason I ask is I could be interested in having some token runs made from some of my bird paintings. Is that something you could or would do??

I've done quite a few commission minting jobs like this.
A finished die can cost anywhere from $300 to $3,000. Most are around $1,000 each. Simple text-only dies are closer to $300. It all depends on the size, and most importantly, the level of difficulty in the design and sculpting. Once dies are done, pieces can be struck for about $2-$4 (plus metal blank cost), depending upon size, material, and surface finish. There is no minimum quantity. Edge lettering and other post-strike operations are extra.

Got my order of 3 in the mail last night. Very nice work. Picked up the Uncle Scam, a Wirtland, and the Liberty 2010 Amero. The Amero is my favorite of the 3 as the liberty head is fantastic. Think I might pocket piece the Uncle Scam and see how the copper does.
