How did everyone do in the Heritage auction?

DennisHDennisH Posts: 14,011 ✭✭✭✭✭
I got a 1936-D Walker PCGS MS65 that was an unattributed DDO FS-101 image
and the 1921-D Morgan PCGS AU58 VAM 1A "TRU-T" image
When in doubt, don't.

Nothing I saw met my standards, and when my rep agreed, I decided not to bid.

I was skunked at Heritage but I did "win" this last night. The Jets-Colts Superbowl was my very first memory I have watching sports on my Dad's lap as a child. I saw my Dad today and told him about the moment as as child and he had a tear in his eye. This card is iconic in the sportscard trade and I've been waiting 15 years for the right one. Sorry if this is OT and Ill remove it if anyone has a problem with it. Just pm me, no worries....... MJ

sat this one out. There was a 1877 cc Trade in an OGH that had my eye but since it didn't have it's original skin I put a modest limit to my bid and got blown out of the water. it went for almost 3x PCGS (my bid was x1.5)guide and it wasn't even close to being a looker.

I sat it out as well. I need to be making more money and spending less right now.

I took the 1859 Half Dime in P64. Kind of a brane color to it. Anyone look at this coin in person?

Prices were higher than eBay and Teletrade on the items I bid. I'm really struggling to find items for my son's collection. My daughter's collection came together rather quickly. I wish I wasn't in Afghanistan so my son and I could attend coin shows together. The hunt would be more enjoyable and I'm sure we'd find more to add to his collection.

0 for 1 image I put a bid on the 1813 ANACS F15 Classic Head Cent at the end but lost. But I was watching that 1819 25c B4 NGC F12 with the die cracks through the date. WOW over $1,100image

I found nothing in my budget range that I had to have for my set. This is the first Heritage sale in about 2 years that I didn't add at least one coin.

I did well. I consigned for the Dallas/Ft. Worth show and lost my b..ls, but I had a 37-d Walker that was in a ICG slab graded MS65. Heritage wouldn't auction it (?) and had it reslabbed in NGC, now MS66 and auctioned at Milwaukee. It went for about $300 more than I paid for originally (w/o buyers premium).

    I went 1 for 1.

Too bad I overpaid to get it. Sometimes I tend to get a little image with auctions.

I bid on around ten Barber Quarters (R3's and R4's) and mostly got edged out by that guy who wanted them a little more. I did manage to win one. I got bids on three more that end tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed.image

I was 1 for 1. Almost bid on two others, but unfortunately had a wallet that was telling me to stop buying collectibles for a while. The one I won was a PCGS PR64Cameo 1893 Barber 50c. It does have some issues (hence the 64) but it has very nice cameo contrast.

SKYMAN... I liked that 1893 Proof Cameo Half as well...I was just tracking it though.

    Nice looking coin for sure.

I was 2 for 2. I won a 1894 and 1896 business strike liberty v-nickels. I wanted the 1894 and was kind of hoping to get out bid on the 1896. Oh well!! I lack 4 business strike v-nickels to finsh the set i started a few months back.I thought the prices were a little higher than i expected but still lower than what i would have bid 2 years ago by 15 to 20 percent.
