OMG LOLOLOLOLOL
<< <i>Dreck is an inside joke of sorts here. A partner in an especially high-end coin dealership rails constantly against the concept of putting one's money into dreck. Of course, there is no exact definition of what dreck is, and opinions vary with every individual, their taste, and especially their financial capability. A 1909-S VDB in raw Fine might be dreck to someone who sells Mint State bust dollars, but it would be a cherished prize to most collectors of modest means. >>

Dreck means not solid for the grade.
There are coins that are out there that are very high end for the grade.
It could be a really nice ms64 (mabey get a +, but be in a 64 holder)
or get the bump to a 65 (which then it becomes low end for the grade- and while it may actually be called 65 by some it is low end for the grade)
This rule applies for all coins and all grades. if its a really solid looking xf40 and in a 40 holder, then its not dreck. If its in a 45 holder and especially a 50 holder, then its VERY LOW END FOR THE GRADE AND CALLED (by those privilaged to use such high vernacular) dreck.
I agree with the concept, though maybe not the terminology.
A coin that tends to have a green bean is "solid for the grade"= (not dreck).
If it does not get the bean, then (this cannot be universal because CAC is only an opinion as well) from specific peoples opinion as well is called dreck.
Recently a certain company bought a 1793 chain cent in 63. Im pretty sure the coin did not sticker. Therefor even though it was worth over $100,000, it was still not a solid for the grade and by their definition, dreck. (maybe it would have gotten the bean in a 62 or 61 holder?)
There would be very few coin collectors.
