Cecil Total Copper Nutcase - African, British Ships, Channel Islands!!! 'Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup'
<< <i>I opened it expecting to see the Victorian Florin box of twenty -
Great coins >>
That calls for a triple fainting emoticon!!!
I've bought every gem+ Gothic florin I've happened across in the last 10 years (except one) and still have only six to show. In fact, PCGS still has graded only 14 in MS66. & 2 in MS67. If you kick out the first year, 1852, the gem+ count dwindles to an even 10.
I wish I knew where the rest were, or even the 16-odd MS65s hiding in the woodwork.
What's the medal(?) at the lower left? Got a bigger pic? I'd love to see it. >>
1838, Great Britain. Official Royal Mint Coronation Medal of Queen Victoria, by Benedetto Pistrucci. Silver 35mm. Obverse featuring a formalised Young Head design with the reverse displaying the young queen being enthroned, and offered the scepter, orb, and crown by Britannia, Scotia and Hibernia; guarded by the ever present and fierce Lion of the Isles.
Rev. Legend: ERIMUS TIBI NOBILE REGNUM (We will be a noble kingdom to thee). Exergue: INAUGURATA / DIE JUNII XXVIII / MDCCCXXXVIII (Crowned June 28, 1838). BHM 1801, Eimer 1315, Fearon 289.1
