A B&M Location Use Question...

I have often noticed when branch banks close and the buildings are used for something else the safe door is usually open and a desk or something in front of the door and the safe is not used. Is there some reason anyone knows of that would prevent the current occupant of an old bank building from using the safe. They always look like perfect candidates for a coin shop to me. No, I am not thinking of opening a coin shop, just wondering.

I have worked in such a building. They finally removed the safe door since they had no use for it. I know of no reason it could not have been used. Cheers, RickO

The shop I worked in many moons ago was in an old bank building. The SD boxes were intact and the store rented private SD boxes to the public. It was really a nice setup.

Seems like a great setup for a coin shop. Built in safe, built in wiring for security cameras, usually in a busy location, open lobby for display case setup, individual rooms for private offices, board room for possible coin club meetings.
