    I think it is a really neat looking benjamin!!! The inkwell with the Liberty Bell is too cool!!

    Since they now have all these anti-counterfeiting features, maybe it's time to bring back the $500 bill and possibily the $1000 bill.

    I'm not much of a fan of the blue streak either - but if it does a good job at preventing the counterfeits I'm all for it.

    Don't care for the "Bell in the Inkwell" but the blue security strip is a turnoff in the design sense. Obviously the BEP needs to do what it can do to deter counterfeits though, so can't complain about that. But the colorful redesign of the $50 is so much prettier than this redesign of the $100 though.

    Maybe we will be able to purchase uncut sheets of these. We can purchase the $50 denoms but why not the $100?

    Since $1000 doesn't buy much these days I think that this would be a useable option for a larger population than in the 1930's.

    Way to go EagleEye. Thanks for posting this. The clip is dramatic. The bill looks terrific!

    Despite all the advanced security features, you just know most store clerks are going to use their swipe pens on most of these.

    I believe that it might be the fear of transporting ill gotten cash that is keeping the big bills ($500 and $1000) in the currency collections. But if it allows Longacre to take a briefcase to the Quicky-Mart instead of a duffel bag, I'm all for it. image

    I used to regularly handle 50 Euro notes living in Belgium. We had to convert dollars to local currency for significant expenses like rent, utilities, food, etc. We would get the euros handed to us in cash, and scamper down the hall to deposit them into our local accounts. It was not uncommon to have 5-7 500 euro notes.

    This was up to $800 US Equiv at the time. Now it is back to $650 or so.
